This number has been ringing me nonstop recently, with a few different versions popping up over the past few weeks. Whenever I pick up, it usually just hangs up straight away - really annoying especially when I’ve just got back inside and I’m expecting a call from someone important. On the rare occasions someone actually speaks, they have a strong Asian accent but insist on names like Harry or Amy, common English names which feel totally fake. Clearly, that’s just the first fib in a long list of dishonesty!

Over the past week, I’ve been getting loads of these calls. The very first one was from an Asian gentleman who started talking about nuisance calls. He kept asking if I was the head of the household. I asked why he needed to know, but he just kept repeating the same question, so I ended the call. I heard somewhere that scammers try to trick you into saying “yes” to things which they later claim counts as agreeing to a contract. Then, on another call, a different Asian man was quite persistent with the same question about me being the man of the house. I gave him the same cold shoulder and now I just let these calls ring through to my voicemail, where they never leave a message. I thought the government was cracking down on these annoying calls. I’m signed up to the TPS but it hasn’t helped much, and I’m not about to pay my phone company to block every call.
