I was caught out by this and ended up waiting for almost fifteen minutes. Is that not against the law? I’m baffled as to how they even obtained my number in the first place. Who should I contact to report these nuisance calls?

What a right numpty! I called the number without bothering to consult this website first. In a fit of panic, I ended up ringing my mobile operator, O2. They did a bit of digging and revealed it’s an agency connected with various businesses. For me, it turned out to be linked to Car Phone Warehouse. I dodged a bullet this time, but I won't be fooled again. Events like this could lead to some rather pricey blunders for anyone!

The sole motivation behind my reply was my suspicion that it might be BT (due to the 192 in the number) in relation to an engineer’s appointment I have scheduled for tomorrow. However, when I dialled, I was greeted with “All our agents are presently occupied, please hold the line” and so on.
