My other half got a text from 01297 8240007 saying his bank card was charged £89.99 at hstv v.i.p club and that it would be taken from his Santander account. It asked if it was him. They said he could confirm the payment by ringing that number and entering pin 411. Pretty suspicious if you ask me!

Yeah, the call really was from Santander - apparently someone tried to use my card over in the States. But instead of just trusting the number that showed up, I found another contact number on Santander’s official site and rang that one. They confirmed it was them alright, but told me not to just believe the caller ID since scammers can fake it pretty easily. Got loads of calls from this number, like 5 times within an hour. A recorded message said it was from Santander. Proper annoying. I’m also getting calls and texts on my mobile. Ended up having to cut off my landline and turn off my phone.

Got a text from this number then called back only to hear a message saying my call will be dealt with soon. Took a quick look online and turns out it was just a scam.

This number keeps ringing me up claiming to be from Santander, saying there’s some dodgy stuff going on with my account. They gave me a 3-digit code to type in on my phone and somehow knew the last 4 numbers of my card. I’m really not sure what to make of it all.

Santander fraud department. I’ve seen loads of comments here claiming the calls are really from Santander, usually saying they’ve phoned the bank back but on a different line. That kinda makes it sound like the number they got the call from might be real, but it could still be dodgy. Plenty of people here are also saying scammers are faking this exact number. It’s a big headache for banks and customers when scammers pretend to be them with fake phone numbers.

This is probably a REAL number from Santander so don’t just block or ignore calls from them if you bank there. But remember, you can’t be 100% sure who’s on the other end. Scammers have faked (cloned) every single phone number used by ALL banks. If you do get a call you’re unsure about, hang up, make sure the line is clear, then ring your bank using the number on your bank card. Don’t wait too long because it might be an important call about your account. Also, watch out for crooks who put up fake scam alerts about bank numbers just to trick people into blocking legit calls.

Just got a call from 0808 280 0767, sounded like a robo call. They claimed to be Santander and even used my name, telling me to press any key to go on. I didn't press anything tho, as Santander would never ring like that. Pretty sure it's a scam or some phishing trick. I've blocked the number and reported it.

Got 6 calls in half an hour, they kept saying my name and claimed to be from Santander. Told me to press any key to confirm or something. I just hung up straight away.

Had probably over twenty calls ringing through yesterday, some even late into the night, about half a dozen came in during the evening till nearly 10 o’clock. Thankfully, I never pick up on unknown numbers but it got so annoying I nearly did out of irritation. Honestly, this constant bother needs to end, it’s such an unwelcome invasion.

I've been bombarded with calls from this number, claiming to be from Santander, insisting there's an issue with my account. It's absolute nonsense, as I’ve already confirmed with Santander directly. Just today, they’ve attempted to reach me four times, both on my home phone and mobile. It’s certainly a reminder to be cautious; we’ve embraced this technology, and now we’re paying the price for it! Be vigilant, folks!
