So annoying, they rang me 8 times today! I’m definitely gonna report them now.

This number rang me claiming to be from Santander. I got a text first from 07862133980 warning about some fraudulent activity on my account and telling me to phone this number with a 3-digit code. I didn’t bother ringing back, as it smelled like a scam. Then they rang me again from this number, still pretending to be Santander. I didn’t pick up, but they left a message asking me to call urgently and give the 3-digit code they sent earlier. I've blocked this number now for good!

I got a text from Santander saying they wanted to check my account or card activity. Then another msg from 447862134536 gave instructions on how to reply. The next message from that number mentioned card usage online at 0nline-CVS.co.uk and asked for a Y/N reply or to call 08082800701 with a 3 digit pin. It all seemed a bit fishy.

Any links sent in texts? They’re definitely not from Santander, loads of fakes going around. They don’t usually ring you over and over. Always call the number on the back of your card to check. This could be a real Santander contact, but there’s a pretty big risk it’s dodgy. I’d already been in touch with Santander before I got this call today from that exact number. Apparently their number can be cloned when they ring you. Any links they send over messages aren’t legit and a lot of fakes are going around. Santander don’t usually reach out straight to you like this. They definitely don’t keep ringing you over and over. Always double check by calling the number on the back of your card. I got called non-stop until almost 10 in the evening today.

This was legit for me. I got a text from 075374331300 saying something about my card being charged and asking if I knew the transaction. Then I got a call with an automated voice. Being a bit suspicious, I rang the number on the back of my debit card instead of replying to the automated call, and they told me someone had copied the magnetic strip on my card.

I received a message instructing me to give them a ring, but surprisingly, they rang me instead. Now I’m in a bit of a quandary over whether I’ve been duped or not. They requested my full name, which I didn’t divulge, but they did ask for my date of birth along with a rundown of my recent transactions-specifically, the names of the purchases and the amounts spent. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

What a cunning ruse they've pulled off by replicating an authentic Santander number! It's imperative to always call the number that's stamped on the reverse of your card, and make sure to use a different phone than the one that buzzed with that message. Stay vigilant!

Watch out, folks. Scammers have faked basically all phone numbers from all the banks, so it’s impossible to know if the call is legit or not. If you get a call from your bank, hang up and ring them back using the number on your card. Don’t put off or just ignore the call in case there’s an important issue, but make sure your phone has fully ended the call before you dial them.

This isn’t a dodgy number, it’s Santander trying to confirm if there’s any suspicious activity on your account. They usually send a text first asking if you’ve made a certain transaction, then they call if you say no. I prefer to ring them back using the official numbers on their site rather than answer their call straight away. That’s what I did today and found out there had been some fraud on my card - it’s now cancelled and a replacement’s on the way. Definitely worth double checking!
