I got a text from Santander's fraud team about some dodgy charges on my card. Since they also rang me, I’m sure that’s their legit number.

They gave me a 3 digit code to enter when I called back, and everything seemed pretty legit since they had my full name. When I rang back and punched in the code, they already knew who I was and then asked for my birth date. It all came across as very professional and could easily fool a lot of folks. Just a heads up to everyone, be careful out there!

At first, I thought it was some sort of scam call but turns out it was Santander. Their fraud team were ringing because someone tried to use my info fraudulently. So it wasn’t a scam like I first thought! The number does actually connect you to a real person, which I found out in the end. They even sent me texts to confirm. Just caught me off guard as it was pretty early in the morning!
