So, I got a missed call last Wednesday but they didn't leave a voicemail. Then, there was another missed call yesterday, again with no message. And wouldn't you know it, another missed call came through today, yet again, no voicemail. Since I’m not familiar with the number, I’ve decided not to answer. I did some digging and stumbled upon this website. After going through a few comments, I’ve opted to block the number. Honestly, these scammers really ought to be dealt with; it’s just plain wrong that they keep getting away with this nonsense.

Got a call from a firm named Motif asking about my recent application with Lloyds bank. Seemed legit, they never requested any personal details, just wanted to check I was the right person and got the name of the business account I’d opened correct. Some absolute bellend rang me claiming to be from 'your bank' customer service. When I asked what bank, they just kept saying customer service. I pressed again, "No, which bank exactly?" I got a call today from a quite polite man who wanted to talk about my account - he actually knew my full name. I didn’t confirm anything and he just ended the call straight away. Claiming to be from Lloyds TSB... JUST SO YOU KNOW, THE BANK SPLIT UP IN 2013, SO THEY WOULDN’T BE CONTACTING ANYMORE USING THIS NAME. This number is defo a fake, likely cloned. PLEASE don’t fall for it or hand over any info if they ring you. If you’re unsure, ring your bank using a number you know is legit and, if you can, use another phone. Keep your guard up!

Utterly fraudulent! This number has been replicated. No legitimate bank or respected company employs overseas call centres for customer feedback. Whatever you do, steer clear of sharing any personal information with these crooks. It would be wise to reach out to your MP and press them to urge UK telecom firms to take action against these unwarranted calls. Take care of yourselves!

This is defo not a scam call. It’s actually Lloyds Bank or one of their branches. If you check the post from 04/04, about 16 comments down, it explains everything and shares the proper safety tips.

Got a call from Lloyds Bank about a customer survey. They actually knew my name and which day I visited the branch. Seems legit, and you can ask them to take your number off their list if you want. Just be careful though and never share personal info with anyone doing surveys.

This is a real number used by Lloyds Bank Group. Since 04/04 they've explained how to steer clear of scammers pretending to be them. Loads of people don't know about this and end up getting tricked.

Got a call from 0800 0808242 on my home phone around 8 in the evening. Didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail. Seems like spam to me since I’ve never dealt with TSB or Lloyds.

Got a few calls from this number. When I finally picked up, a man named Mohammed spoke but his voice was so muffled I couldn't make out what he said. I asked him to tell me which company he was calling from, then he just cut the call. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

I received a call from an individual claiming to be Abdullah, who insisted on speaking with my husband about his bank account. When I probed him about which bank he represented, he merely reiterated his desire to chat with Mr ******. Curious about his origin, I inquired where he was calling from, but again, he dodged the question, solely fixated on reaching Mr ****** regarding his financial affairs. I couldn’t help but question whether he was a scammer after sensitive bank details, which seemed to rattle him, as he promptly hung up. This clearly screams a banking scam-quite tenacious, too! It’s particularly concerning considering my husband has never associated my mobile number with any banking matters. How on earth did they manage to connect us?

Someone from Lloyds Bank called me asking for feedback on a recent experience I had with them. They even mentioned the name on the account I was calling about, so I’m pretty sure it was legit. But after a few questions about the service, I got a bit fed up and ended the call.

Scam calls usually don’t last long enough to get that many views. This one’s got over 100,000 which is pretty unusual. Still, don’t rely on this info too much. If your bank rings you, hang up straight away, double check the call’s really ended, then ring your bank back using the number on your card or the official website.

Glad I didn’t answer when they rang. Its quite odd really, ive had issues trying to set up an account with them. When you call, they ask for your info, but if you go into the branch they act like they know nothing about it. Bit of a weird system if you ask me. Banks always warn you not to share info over the phone cos of dodgy callers pretending to be from the bank. Based on this site and what ive been through, I’d say they seem a bit dodgy.

Managed to dodge their call thankfully. It's odd though, I've had issues setting up an account with them. When I call, they want to take my details, but that counts for nothing when you go into their branch. Weird system. Banks usually say don’t share info over the phone if you get calls from unknown people pretending to be bank staff. Based on this site and my own run-in, I'd say they seem risky.

Got a call on my work phone at 7.24pm but I’d already left for the day. They didn’t leave any voicemail or message. I rang the number back this morning, and they said they’re some market research firm called Motif.
