This number is really from Lloyds bank’s fraud team. I reckon a lot of the bad reviews are probably from scammers or bots trying to get people to block it. You can easily check it yourself on the Lloyds site, just look under contact us - fraud section.

This morning I got three calls from the same number. It was one of those automated messages that seemed legit at first. Worried, I called the number on the back of my credit card just to check. I gave the caller the number they dialled me from, and they said it wasn’t linked to Lloyds at all. So I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number now.

Got a letter claiming to be from Lloyds Bank saying my Direct Debit for my Lloyds credit card (which I don’t even have!) has been stopped. It said to set up a new Direct Debit online or by calling them. It even gave a number 03456062172 and told me to wait 24 hours if I got a message about it. The letter looked dodgy though, the heading was just black and white and not in colour like genuine ones. Definitely feels like a scam, so watch out everyone!

It really is Lloyds fraud team. I rang them about a transaction my app marked as suspicious. Felt a bit worried so I rang the number on the back of my card to double check and they confirmed this number is genuine. But keep in mind, scammers can fake this number, so only trust it if you’re the one making the call. Just end any calls that don’t feel right and then call the number on your Lloyds card, which is 0345 300 0000.

Some bloke called saying he was “John Moore” from Lloyds bank, talking about transactions on my account. But I cancelled the card like 2 months ago. He kept insisting it was still active on his “system”. Lloyds never ring you directly about fraud, they just send a text asking if you approve a payment. If you say no, they put you through to their real fraud team. I’ve had about 4 tries on this card already, even though it’s cancelled. Seems like folks are still buying my info and hoping I fall for it!

This scammer kept ringing my folks, claiming he had their full bank info. He even mentioned exactly how much money they had saved and said he was from Lloyds bank. He tried to convince them to withdraw cash and keep it at home, but thankfully they didn’t fall for it. He kept phoning again and again, leaving worse and worse threatening messages, using horrible language like #### and more. Do not pick up if this number calls you. If you accidentally do, just tell them they’re fraudsters being tracked down by the police. Such nasty, abusive, threatening people.

This number was used in a covid alert scam. An older mate of mine got caught out. She bought a PCR test and gave her personal info. Afterwards, they tried hacking into her bank and stealing money. When that didn’t work, they rang pretending to be from Halifax Fraud. They asked her for her passwords, ID answers and security questions. Luckily she got wary in time, but not before oversharing private info. Because of this, she had to freeze her bank account and replace all her bank cards. These scammers are truly heartless and shameless.

Yesterday evening, just when I thought the day couldn’t get any worse, I received a rather unsettling call. Initially, I was a tad sceptical, yet the chap on the other end was exceedingly persuasive. He insisted I log into my bank account for reasons that were rather unclear. To top it off, he arranged a meeting for me at the bank and promised to ring back on Monday. However, after a mate warned me it might be a scam, I decided to look into the number. Turns out, he was indeed up to no good! I’ve since blocked his number-03456062172.

I recently shared how my husband got scammed from a call supposedly from Lloyds, and I need to say this number is actually a real Lloyds contact for credit card questions. The tricky part is, scammers can fake this number easily. When my husband checked with the bank about using the number from the call, they told him scammers fake loads of numbers so they can't track them all - best just to block it. I only found out it was a genuine Lloyds number AFTER looking it up online. So, if you’re unsure, always ring your bank directly to double-check. It’s safer that way.

I received a call this evening from someone claiming my card had been compromised due to some sort of scam - they asked if I'd misplaced it! Earlier, I had received a message purporting to be from “Royal Mail”, insisting I owed £2.99 for postage. The text took a rather odd turn, requesting my date of birth, account details, and sort code. They then claimed to have cancelled my card and sent me a text confirming this. To my dismay, it turned out not to be Lloyds Bank at all. It was just a scammer, a bloke named "Alan" with a thick Scottish accent. It’s all rather alarming!

Got a text saying new cards are being sent out. Our cards are only valid until 2023 though. My husband got the same message as well.

I got a message claiming a new credit card is en route to me, but I don’t even bank with Lloyds. It really feels like a dodgy scam to me.

I received calls from this number on two consecutive days, each time from a different individual claiming to represent separate firms. They were insisting on obtaining my bank details due to a supposed fraud that I had fallen victim to. When I informed them that I had already reported the incident and requested further information regarding their affiliations, they abruptly ended the conversation or attempted to intimidate me by saying they’d freeze my account. Quite peculiar, if you ask me!

So, I received a call from a mobile number where the person claimed to be from Lloyds bank. They asked me some questions and then gave me this number to ring for financial assistance. Before calling back, I decided to google if it was legit or a scam. The woman named Aleda sounded kinda rushed and eager to end the call when I started asking her some stuff. It definitely didn’t feel right to me.

Someone rang saying they were from Lloyds and needed me to open a new bank account because apparently there was some fraud on mine. But the sort code they gave me definitely wasn’t Lloyds. They also mentioned something about fraud on my PayPal, but honestly, they didn’t sound legit at all.

I've received two calls from this number. Could it perhaps be a scam?

For a few months now, I've been getting texts claiming to be from Lloyds Bank about my account balance, but I’ve never even been a customer there. I went to a Lloyds branch nearby to let them know, but the messages keep coming. Now, today they’re saying they’re going to send me a credit card. Nope, it’s definitely a scam.

Got a text from this number 03456062172 saying they'd sent me a new credit card with the last 4 digits matching mine. They told me to call that number if it didn't arrive within 5 working days, but I still haven't got anything.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from the fraud department of Lloyds Bank, who insisted on verifying some transactions on my account. Feeling uneasy, I ended the conversation and promptly contacted Lloyds directly to speak with their fraud team. It turns out that the original call wasn’t genuine, although they did inform me that there had been attempts to access my account. Luckily, they managed to halt any suspicious transactions and cancelled my debit card right away. Interestingly, it seems that the number used belongs to Lloyds Bank's credit card services!

First I got an email claiming to be from the DVLA trying to scam me, then a phone call saying they were from the bank's fraud team. After that, another call came from the number 017333##### - definitely dodgy! Be very careful and steer clear of anything like this.

I decided to call this number thinking it was legit, but turns out it’s not. When I got through, it was just an automated message, no real person speaking. Then they asked me for my debit card details, like account number, sort code, and the 3 digit code on the back! No bank would ever ask you for that over the phone! I hung up straight away. They didn’t even bother asking my name! I’ve reported it to Lloyds now, hopefully something will be done.

My partner received a text from this number, and it appears to be legitimate, directing you to the customer service department of Lloyds. He decided to ring up just to confirm that there hadn't been any unauthorised activity on our card. Thankfully, everything seemed in order. I'm not entirely certain what someone could gain from this, but it's definitely wise to verify with the bank just to put your mind at rest.

It appears I've received a message from a couple of mobile numbers (+447958879882 & +447958879860) claiming to represent Lloyds Bank. Quite the tricky tactic they've employed, as they included the genuine Lloyds contact number in the message itself. One can't help but wonder if they're banking on individuals calling or messaging back directly, rather than reaching out using the official number provided. Quite devious, if you ask me!

Clearly just a scam, isn't it?
