Curiosity got the better of me, so I pressed the button, only to be abruptly disconnected. Clearly, it’s a scam, but it left me quite rattled, especially since I was at home alone with the children. Now, I can’t shake off the anxiety that they might have compromised my account in some way.

I received a rather alarming call purporting to be from the tax authorities, insisting that I had an outstanding debt. They warned me that failing to press one would result in a warrant being issued for my arrest. Out of sheer panic, I pressed one-only for them to immediately disconnect the call! Quite the scam, if you ask me.

Just a short while back, I received a rather similar call - a pre-recorded voice asserting that I was under investigation for fraud, warning that failure to press 1 would result in an arrest warrant being issued straight away. I opted not to press 1; instead, I hung up and promptly blocked the number. These kinds of calls can be quite distressing, particularly for those who are more susceptible to such tactics.

I've been inundated with calls from someone purporting to be from the tax office, alleging that I owe money. Honestly, when on earth is the government going to put an end to these annoying phone calls? It's absolutely infuriating!
