I got a call on my phone here in Bournemouth and decided to report it to the police through Action Fraud. Although it didn’t really bother me or scare me, I know it could frighten others. The caller sounded pretty convincing, honestly! If you get any calls or texts that seem like scams, especially if they’re pushing for money or personal details, I’d definitely recommend reporting them too!

I get loads of these calls all the time. They keep trying to act like they’re from BT or claiming they’re from HMRC, ringing both my mobile and landline. Honestly, don’t listen to anything they say, just put the phone down straight away. They’re just leeches trying to scam you.

Got a recorded call saying it was HMRC, telling me to press 1 or I'd be arrested. Before I could even figure out what it was about, the call just cut off. Pretty annoying!

Got one of those automated calls again. HMRC always writes to you if there’s an issue, so this has gotta be a scam. It’s not the first time either - before they threatened to arrest me, but here I am, still out and about enjoying the day haha.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was Ian McDermott from HMRC, proper dodgy. He warned me I'd get nicked for not paying my tax. Sounded like a scam straight away, Asian accent too. Wouldn't trust that for a second.

This number rang me up saying they were from HMRC and that there was a court warrant out for me. They told me to press 1 if I wanted more information. I got quite worried because I had no idea about any warrant. When I pressed 1, a man answered, saying his name was Sam Parker and that he was an officer. He gave me a case number and a warrant ID, then asked me to confirm my address. His Indian accent made me uneasy, and once he started asking for my address, I just ended the call straight away. - caller: Male, Indian accent, pretending to be Sam Parker

Just got a call from this number a moment ago. Was wondering if it was one of those annoying PPI scam calls. I waited a few seconds, around 5 or 6, with no sound before saying hello. As soon as I spoke, the call ended right away. Definitely a spam or scam - best to ignore it altogether.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying I’m in trouble for income tax fraud and that they’re going to arrest me. Funny thing is, I earn less than the tax threshold and actually keep getting tax refunds from them. Then they told me to hit 1 to fix the issue. Bit of a laugh really.

This number rang me claiming to be from the tax office saying there was some tax fraud linked to me. I got a bit worried and told them my name and where I live, but then I thought it was odd since it was past 5pm and the tax office wouldn’t be open then, so I just ended the call.

I received a rather concerning phone call from this number, where the caller alleged to be representing HMRC, stating that there was a court warrant lodged against me. They urged me to press 1 for further information. Naturally, I was quite taken aback, as this was all news to me. So, I did engage and pressed 1 out of curiosity. A gentleman, who spoke with an Indian accent, introduced himself as Sam Parker, providing me with an officer number, a case reference, and a warrant ID. He then requested to confirm my address. At that moment, my instincts were piqued, especially given his accent. When he pressed me for my address as a means of verifying my identity, I deemed it best to end the call right then and there. - Caller: Male, claiming to be Sam Parker with an Indian accent.
