03330456005, 14/11/22 Tried to order KFC for family through Deliveroo app. Paid with Google Pay but payment got declined. Cancelled order and deleted app. Then got a text saying it was a scam. They called back next day (15th), claiming to be Fraud Line with an automated message, used my correct name but wouldn’t give any other info. Checked my online account and everything seems fine.

While a few folks might get legit calls from this number, that doesn’t mean every call is genuine. My bank cards got blocked out of nowhere, then I got an automated call listing my recent transactions - though one said I’d spent 17 billion quid at some restaurant, which is obviously wrong. Then the voice asked for info that Barclays would never request. Best to just hang up and ring your bank directly to be on the safe side, in my opinion.

This number really belongs to Barclays fraud department. I’m a Barclays client and they rang my landline after failing to get hold of my husband on his mobile. We live near Leeds and he was in Stafford for the day. After he used his card there, they called because it’s quite far from our usual location. Definitely a LEGIT number.

I received a couple of texts on my mobile and a phone call on there, along with two more to my landline, all from the number 03330456005. Those on the other end claimed to be representing Barclays regarding some supposed activity on my account. The troubling part is that they didn’t even have the correct debit card number, yet it made me quite anxious. It’s appalling how they seem to prey on the elderly, hoping to extract personal details. Just a bunch of shameless con artists, if you ask me!

I can confirm that the number in question actually belongs to Barclays and is not a scam as some may think. I had a chat with their team, and it turns out there was indeed some dodgy dealings linked to my previous card. Thankfully, they've taken swift action and have now blocked the card to prevent any further issues.

ABSOLUTELY NOT BARCLAYS, I just spoke with them and they confirmed it’s not them calling. This is a total scam so you best block the number straight away. I actually had to cancel my card earlier today ‘cause another company tried to nick 1p from my account for a subscription I never agreed to. Honestly, the whole world seems like one massive con nowadays haha!

Got a call claiming to be Barclays fraud dept but not sure it was really them since I've never got an automated call from them before - they only knew my first and middle name too. Best to just ignore it and ring Barclays yourself to confirm. :)

I kept getting calls and texts from this number and also a private caller asking if I had approved some charges on my debit card, which I hadn’t. They even left a bogus voicemail saying I needed to ring back. Turns out it was all a scam.

Got a couple of £40 payments to Tesco online on my debit card, not mine though (it’s actually showing up on my account). Got a text saying fraud team will get in touch soon. I just hung up, gonna call Barclays in the morning to ask about the two £40 charges. Was on hold with music playing for a fraud officer at 1:05 am, definitely feels suspicious.

03330456005 calling pretending to be Barclays, saying “you’ve recently used your debit card” is a total giveaway cos who doesn’t use their card every day? Do NOT reply - instead, ring the number on the back of your actual bank card, usually an 0800 one for emergencies. Block and report this number, then share it here. Loads of these fraudulent numbers can be reported to ISPs who might block them completely.

Received a message purporting to be from Barclays, requesting confirmation of recent transactions on my account. Initially, they texted me, and when I replied, they called almost instantly. They sounded very credible. They asserted that my card had to be deactivated due to possible fraudulent activity and stated that a replacement card wouldn't be sent unless I answered their questions. When I probed further, they dodged my queries and eventually ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!
