DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAM WARNING! I saw what was said on this page and dismissed the calls, which turned out to be a mistake. Over the course of a few days, tiny amounts were being taken from my bank account - adding up to more than £60 in a week. When I finally checked with my local branch, they showed me that lots of payments had been processed through mobile apps, mostly to Costa Coffee, even though I don’t have a smartphone! The staff told me that if you get calls like this, always ring the number on the back of your real card to double-check if it’s genuinely them.

I got three calls from this number today, with the last one coming after 6pm. Seeing as banks aren’t open that late, it's pretty clear their fraud team wouldn’t be either. I didn’t pick up any of the calls, and since that last one was so late, I’m pretty sure this number isn’t legit. Also, these calls all happened on a Sunday, when banks are definitely closed. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

At first I was a bit iffy about a call from this number, but I decided to ring it back. This number is legit. I got a call yesterday from Barclays telling me there was suspicious activity on my account. Got a message claiming to be from 'Barclays' saying there was suspicious use on my card ending ####. Funny thing is, that card was cancelled two months ago, so no chance there. Got calls on both my house phone and mobile about some supposed fraud on my Barclays debit card, total scam for sure cos the bank would never get in touch that way.

This is a total scam, don’t fall for it! Maybe they’re lying about god blessing you or maybe you never learnt good manners from your mum! Karma always catches up in the end.

Just got back from my holiday and found a voicemail from this number on my home phone. I’ve never had any Barclays accounts, so I’m thinking this is probably a scam.

Got a voicemail saying my card had been used fraudulently, but they never said which bank it was from. They asked me to press any key. We’ve blocked the number on our phone now.

Got a missed call from this number on my landline but no voicemail. Rang back just to see and heard an automated voice saying it was Barclays Fraud and asked me to press any key to connect - sounded fishy. So I phoned Barclays Customer Service who verified my info and sent a code to my phone. They told me there’s no record of Barclays trying to reach me and nothing suspicious on my account. Bit dodgy really. However, my daughter got a call from the same number asking to confirm some recent transactions and it sounded legit to her.
