Even if it’s a genuine Barclays number, the call could still be a scam. Somebody rang my father-in-law and left this number on his voicemail. They phoned again while we were visiting. Got a call from Barclays fraud team, seemed legit. They didn’t ask for any personal info, just checked if I’d made some transactions.

Got a robo call saying they need to speak to my son about some suspicious use of his card, even tho he dont live with me anymore. I told him, he then phoned Barclays using their app and they said they never got any call like that and his account looks fine with no weird transactions.

Barclays fraud team got in touch. They blocked my card and declined some online payments coz they thought it was dodgy since I didn’t reply quick enough! Bit of a hassle but glad they caught those weird transactions that definitely weren’t me!

Kept ringing me non stop all day but never left any voicemail. After a while it stopped but then kicked off again. I checked this website and ended up ringing Barclays Bank, who told me they weren’t trying to reach me. Pretty clear this is just another dodgy scammer out there.

I contacted my wife and left her a voicemail using her full name, claiming to be from the Barclays fraud team. However, after confirming with Barclays, it appears that the number I received the call from does not belong to them.

After receiving a phone call from this number, my mum was requested to call back, with the caller claiming to be from the fraud team at Barclays. As a precautionary measure, we chose to contact Barclays Bank using the number provided on our statement. Surprisingly, they informed us that they had not made any calls to us.

They say they’re from Barclays but when I checked with them, there’s no sign of any call or that number. I’d strongly say don’t share any details. Feels pretty dodgy to me. They phoned me two times with an auto message asking for personal stuff. This could be really risky.

I called the number 0345 050 4585 shown on Barclays’ site for fraud related calls. Barclays confirmed it’s the right contact. I’ve had about 5 calls today alone. After waiting ages, they told me there’s probably a mix-up with a customer’s details. They’re going to fix it but said it’ll take 2-3 days. I asked if they could hurry it up since I’m waiting on urgent hospital calls about serious health issues, but they said their IT system can’t speed up removing my number. That’s really awful! I don’t have a Barclays account and honestly, I never want one now.

barclays fraud dept called me. my card got blocked the day earlier and this call was from an automated system, they only asked me to confirm my DOB and nothing more. this seemed legit enough.
