I must warn you about a number that's been ringing from 03330456001. Whatever you do, just don't pick up! It’s a scam!

These con artists claim to be calling from the Barclays Fraud Team, and they'll bombard you with all sorts of personal questions-your first name, last name, mother’s maiden name, and even your bank account details. At the end of the conversation, they’ll mention something about sending a text message in a quarter of an hour with an 'ACTIVATION CODE.' But believe me, once you hang up, any money you have in your current or savings accounts could very well vanish. You won’t receive any messages at all.

That’s the ordeal I experienced, and I felt it was important to share this with all of you.

So, for your own safety, please avoid answering that call.

According to them, they never make multiple calls and if they spot anything odd, they freeze the account and send a text. Plus, any calls from Barclays never show the number, it always comes up as unknown. They told me to watch my accounts carefully and to ignore any calls from this number if it rings again.

I got a call from Barclays fraud dept, they told me stuff about my account and had already sent a message earlier. This call sounded legit, they even told me things I’d spent and mentioned a card application that was declined, which was weird for my account. So fair play to Barclays this time, they handled it well.

Watch out, this is an actual Barclays number but scammers can fake it! I got what looked like a legit text from Barclays asking if I’d seen three transactions. They told me to reply N if I didn’t recognise them. I did, then got a quick call from this number and another text saying my card was frozen. I cut the call and rang Barclays straight away using the phone number on the back of my card. They told me there was no suspicious activity and my card wasn’t blocked at all! Just be cautious, calls from this number might not be what they look like.

I called Barclays because my card got stuck in the ATM. Not long after, like within an hour, I started recieving calls from this number saying my card was being used miles away from where I actually am. Quite strange!
