Phone number ☎️ 03330450017 👆 is reported as the Co-operative Bank's genuine fraud prevention line, handling alerts about suspicious card activity. While many users confirm it as authentic and helpful, others warn that scammers frequently spoof this number, making caution essential. If contacted, customers should end the call, ensure the line is clear, then independently phone the bank using the number on the back of their card to verify legitimacy. The bank monitors and responds to fraudulent attempts, but due to widespread number spoofing, vigilance and direct confirmation with the bank are critical to avoid falling victim to scams.

I got an answerphone message about some dodgy stuff with the last 4 numbers of my debit card. They told me to ring 159 instead of this number. It's supposedly from COOP, but it’s definately not them, so it’s a scam.

Cooperative Bank called me back sayin there were some unauthorised transactions and weird payments on my account - but I didnt bother ringin them back. Nothing looked off on my account at all. If I'd been worried, I'd have got in touch with the bank myself directly anyway.

This number is a scam, steer clear! What a joke of a bank the Co-operative is. Just had a chat with a really nice lady, but those muppets tried to nick another £44 off me. Up the Co-op! 😡

Got a text saying my bank stopped a payment to some company. Then they sent another message asking me to reply yes or no if I wanted the payment to go ahead. I called my bank and talked to a person there, but I’m still not totally sure if it’s legit or a scam.

I've been bombarded with calls and emails from this lot. The last four digits they claim belong to my account are completely off. I’m definitely going to flag this with the bank on their official contact number. This is absolutely not the right number.

Got a call saying it was from Coop bank about some dodgy activity on my card, but the bloke was using numbers from an old card of mine. I tried calling back the number, but an automated message came on saying they couldn't find my info because I wasn’t calling from the same phone they’d contacted me on. Thing is, I was on that exact phone, so it felt fishy and I ended the call. Later, I rang Coop bank direct to double check and they told me nobody had reached out to me in the past two days, so I was told to just ignore it.

I got a call from this number saying they were from the Co-operative Bank and even used my name plus the last four numbers of a card, but those digits weren’t right. I checked by ringing the number on the back of my credit card and they told me there was nothing wrong with my account, suggesting the scammer might be faking the number to pretend they’re from the bank. My Co-op card was hacked about five years back, so those last four digits might’ve come from that old card.

I got a call that seemed a bit fishy, so I ignored it at first. Then I rang the Co-op bank myself to double check, and it turned out the number was legit from their fraud team. They told me someone tried to use my credit card without permission. They advised me to get rid of my old card and promised a replacement is on its way. If you get a suspicious call, I'd say ring the Co-op bank directly to see if it’s about any strange activity on your account.

Got a call this morning on my home phone from what sounded like the Co-op Bank’s fraud team. They said there was a dodgy transaction on my debit card and even shared the last four numbers of the card to prove it was legit. I rang them back through the proper Co-op contact number and found out they’d already blocked my card. Once I explained the charge was legit, they reactivated my account. Got a call like this just today - then moments later, I received a text with the payment info after my card was declined (I accidentally used the wrong side of the chip). So I figured it must be legit. You might want to hold off and see if you get a follow-up message? The only thing you need to do is respond with YES if it’s your transaction, or NO if it’s unfamiliar - nothing else needed. Afterwards, I got a message back thanking me for helping with their fraud protection.

Without a doubt, this number is from the Co-operative bank’s fraud dept. I saw a few posts here and thought it was a scam so I just didn’t pick up. Then when my credit card got declined while I was out shopping, I got worried and called my bank. They told me they’d been trying to warn me about suspicious activity but I never answered. Glad it’s all been sorted in the end.

I got a ring from this number too, and it definitely felt like one of those dodgy scam calls at first. But luckily I had a moment to ring up my bank straight away to double check. I dialled the Co-op Bank's official support line and found out there actually was an issue with my credit card. So turns out the call was legit after all. Just be careful though - the advisor warned me that scammers sometimes spoof real bank numbers. If you're unsure, always use your bank’s official contact info to verify before doing anything.

Be careful! Don’t ever trust someone who says they’re from your bank on the phone. These scammers are clever and can fake any bank number you can think of. They really know how to trick people. If you get one of these calls, hang up straight away and make sure your line is clear first. Then, ring your bank using the number on your card without delay. Never just brush off a call saying it’s your bank, it’s better to check for yourself.

I’m pretty sure this was a scam! I got a call way past midnight while I was fast asleep, but there was no voicemail or anything. It happened just a few hours after I’d tried to make an online purchase and my Coop credit card got declined, though I’m still not sure why. :/

I was driving so couldn't pick up the call, but right after that I got a text from a different number about my Co-op credit card being declined. The details matched perfectly - the place was Sainsbury's and the amount was spot on. The message asked me to reply YES if it was me, or NO if I didn't authorise it or it was done under pressure. Some folks mentioned this number might be a scam pretending to be Co-op bank, but seeing how the call and text came one after the other, I'd lean towards this being an authentic Co-op communication.

Got a call from an automatic system claiming to be the Co-op's fraud team. They might call you from one number, then tell you to call back on a different one to check some card transactions. Weirdly, they had my mobile, landline and work numbers, and seemed to respond about half an hour after something happened on my credit card.
