Got a call saying I'm under investigation for tax fraud. They told me if I didn’t press 1 to talk to them, a warrant would be put out and they’d come after me. Just blocked it straight away.

Today, at around 3:04 PM on Monday, the 15th of July, 2019, I had a rather peculiar phone call from this number. The individual on the line asserted they were from HMRC, alleging that I was embroiled in a tax fraud case. They insisted I press 1 for more information; however, I chose to hang up instead. It strikes me as highly unlikely that any legitimate governmental department would handle matters in such a manner. I strongly suspect this is a scam aimed at extracting personal information from unsuspecting individuals!

I just received a rather alarming call from someone purporting to be from the tax fraud department. They insisted that if I didn't press 1 immediately, I'd be facing arrest. It all appeared rather dodgy, to say the least!

I received a call from this number claiming to be the HMRC, threatening that I’d be arrested if I didn’t press one. Naturally, I pressed one out of curiosity, and I was greeted by a rather dodgy-sounding individual who wanted my date of birth and the last few digits of my National Insurance number. It didn’t sit right with me, so I promptly ended the call. Sounds like a scam to me!

They told me to ring a certain number, but it turned out to be a scam trying to mess with my phone and cause a lot of hassle. Honestly, best thing is to just block those calls straight away.
