Got a call saying I'm under investigation for tax fraud. They told me if I didn’t press 1 to talk to them, a warrant would be put out and they’d come after me. Just blocked it straight away.

Around 3 PM today, Monday 15/07/2019, I got a call from this number. The person on the other end said they were with HMRC and mentioned some tax fraud issue, telling me to press 1. I just hung up straight away because it seemed fishy. I doubt any official government office would contact you like that, so I'm pretty sure it’s a scam trying to trick you into handing over your personal information!

Got a call from someone saying they were a tax scam officer, telling me to hit 1 or I’d get arrested. Definitely a dodgy call, so I just hung up.

This number rang me claiming to be from HMRC, warning me I'd get arrested if I didn’t press one. When I did, someone who sounded genuine asked for my DOB and the last digits of my NI number. I wasn’t convinced and just ended the call. Sounds like a scam to me.
