Got a call from an automated voice about some HMRC tax issue with my name, telling me to press one to talk to their office. I immediately ended the call and looked up the number online. Now I’ve blocked it. I don’t normally pick up unknown numbers, but I was waiting for something else so I answered. It’s quite worrying how easily folks could get tricked by stuff like this, especially those who are more vulnerable.

Got a call from some recorded voice saying it was HMRC. I quickly ended the call once I figured out it was a scam. Thought about messing with them a bit to waste their time but I was tied up.

About half an hour ago, I got a call from a bloke who said he was calling from HMRC. He claimed there was a fraud case involving me. Honestly, it felt really disrespectful! The number showing up on my phone was 03002002939.

Got a call from 0300-200-2939 claiming I was nailed for tax dodging. I explained I’ve been off work due to illness, but the bloke with a heavy Indian accent just hung up on me. Such classy behaviour from HMRC, right?

On the 8th of April 2019, at about 7.14pm, I got a robo call from 0300 200 2939 saying it was HMRC warning me about some fraud they claimed I'd done, even threatening arrest. Then some bloke with a foreign accent jumped on the line talking about me having to pop over to London to fix it. What is wrong with these muppets? They clearly need some serious help. All I can say is maybe he’d be better off sorting himself out with a tin of petrol, mixing in some pork fat, and a nice box of matches to keep himself entertained.

Got a call from them today, they swore at me and then ended the call straight away. A while back, they pulled the same nonsense on my other half. What cowards.

Got a robocall warning me about tax fraud with my name linked to it, then it just cut off. Blocked the number straight away. Seriously, how come phone providers don't step up and stop this nonsense?

That call was definitely a scam, don’t bother answering it. They shouldn’t be ringing folks like this at all.

I got a call from someone pretending to be a woman cop, but her Indian accent was so thick I struggled to catch most of what she was saying. She talked really fast, and I ended up giving her my full name and address, which in hindsight was daft of me. She kept telling me there was a warrant out for me because of tax problems and kept asking when I last had a job. Once I told her I wasn’t working right now, she suddenly said they must have made an error and then just hung up. Tried calling her number back, but it just wouldn’t pick up. Weird experience.

These people are part of a dodgy gang funding human trafficking, including kids and women. Absolutely the worst, I make sure to block them and report every time. Total scumbags!

Got a recorded call full of bad grammar saying I've got a tax warrant and I should press 1 to stop HMRC from arresting me. Bit weird since I recently got a letter from HMRC and there was no mention of any 'tax warrant' or anything like that. Classic scam, and they didn't even try hard making it sound legit. - caller: unknown scammer

Got a call saying I have a tax warrant against me. They kept saying I’d get arrested if I didn’t press 1. The line was really bad and their English was awful. Then some woman started telling me my bank account and passport would be frozen. When I tried asking what was going on a couple of times, she just hung up on me.

Just got a ring from 0300 200 3950 out of the blue. Didn’t pick up since it’s one of those non-local numbers. No voicemail or message left, so pretty sure it’s some sort of scam. Been getting loads of calls like this lately - makes me wonder if it’s connected to all the HMRC emails about tax deadlines and stuff. Blocked it straight away, same as all the others.
