Got a call from some dodgy number saying I've got a tax fraud issue with HMRC. Definitely a scam, as HMRC never ring or email you out of the blue. The only proper way they get in touch is through letters. So if you get a call like that, just ignore it!

Got a call from 0300 200 3932 claiming to be HMRC. Since I've just lost my partner, I thought it might be real because they even addressed me by my first name. They said I needed a lawyer because supposedly there’s a warrant for my arrest, said it was serious. I told them I was still grieving and asked how they could be so insensitive. The woman said sorry for my loss but kept pushing how URGENT it was. I ended the call, but honestly, it’s left me feeling quite shaken.
