My phone buzzed so I didn't pick up and let it go straight to voicemail. The message was all robotic, saying HMRC's looking into me for some tax fraud thing. I got a call with a robot voice claiming to be from HMRC Fraud, saying if I didn’t press 1, I’d get arrested. I did press 1 and got connected to a woman with an accent that sounded like she was from somewhere around India or Pakistan. When she asked for my name, I told her, “Do you actually enjoy scamming people?” She shot back saying if I thought it was a scam, the local cops would come after me. So I asked who exactly my local officers were, and then she just cut the call.
