I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, speaking in a really scary way, saying there's fraud linked to me and if I don’t press 1 I’ll be arrested. It sounded so urgent and meant to scare me. I really hope HMRC gets wind of this and takes down these scammers soon. I’m sure plenty of people who are more vulnerable might fall for this and might lose a lot of money before realising it's fake. I’m definitely reporting this scam today to the proper authorities. - Caller claimed to be HMRC.

Like the others have said, they pretended to be from HMRC. I’m really glad I didn’t get taken in and checked the number first. I’m usually quite cautious but it’s heartbreaking to think about the vulnerable folks who end up caught by these scams.
