Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying if I didn’t press 1 to talk to an operator, I’d have a warrant out for my arrest. Didn’t bother pressing anything and just ended the call right away since it was obvious it was a scam. Have since blocked the number.

Over a few days, I got two calls from numbers starting with 0300. The first one said I was in trouble for tax fraud and had a warrant out for me. It really freaked me out at first. The guy claimed his name was Officer Mike Foster, but the voice was clearly an Asian bloke. He kept pushing me not to hang up, which made me more suspicious. After my gut feeling kicked in, I ended the call and looked things up online. Then about 4 days later, I got another call from a similar 0300 number, but I ignored it straight away because I figured it was the same scam.

Got a robotic voice telling me I’ll be arrested and shot at sunrise - might as well say that cos it’s just as likely!! Surely, if HMRC wanted to get in touch properly, they’d send a proper letter, not some dodgy automated message. The number was 03002003906 - absolute jokers.

So this person rings me up saying I owe some kind of tax money (what a load of rubbish) and threatened me with a warrant if I hung up. Lucky for me, I just got my latest p60s through so there’s no way that’s true! Plus, I’m signed up to the TPS, so they really shouldn’t be bothering me like this. Now this muppet is getting reported for harassment. - caller: Unknown

Got a call and voicemail just like that one. I hit 1 and ended up chatting with some bloke who sounded Asian. When he asked for my name, I told him I was Detective John Blogs from the police. Suddenly, the line just cut off. Yeah right, HMRC my foot. Couldn't even understand the guy properly.

Just got a call from 0300 200 3905 a couple of minutes back, complete muppets trying to pull a fast one on me. I don’t know who they think they’re kidding. Thankfully, my phone’s block feature is a lifesaver! Haha, sorted!

Got a voicemail from "HMRC" saying I'd be arrested if I didn’t press 1. So, I did and ended up chatting with a bloke who had a vaguely Asian accent. He asked for my details, so I slowly spelled out my name, asking him to repeat it back to me - three times over: Isaac Hunt, Isaac Hunt, Isaac Hunt. Had a bit of fun pleading with him not to arrest me, just to waste some of his time, then he abruptly cut me off. Absolute cheek! Now I’m just here twiddling my thumbs, waiting for the bobby’s to show up. Caller: Mike Hunt.
