Got a letter that said it was from HMRC telling me I had to pay £100 for a Land Transaction Return fine. It gave me a couple of phone numbers to call for help, but when I checked the numbers, both turned out to be listed as common scams.

I've been hearing a lot about this new phone scam going around where people get a voicemail supposedly from HMRC. The message says HMRC is about to take legal action against you and urges you to ring back and press 1 to talk to the officer handling the case. Loads of reports are coming in, especially from elderly folks who seem to be the main targets. It’s really getting serious now!

Got a voicemail from HMRC saying there was some tax fraud on my account. I cut the call before they could say much else and blocked the number straight away. HMRC would never reach out like that, so watch out!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying there’s a tax fraud issue linked to me. They said if I press 1, I can talk to an agent, but if I don’t and the call doesn’t go through, they’ll issue an arrest warrant. Felt like a total scam to me.

Got a message on my phone, all automated, saying I had an arrest warrant and had to ring straight away. I checked with the proper folks and they confirmed it’s just a scam. Don’t pick up if you get this! HMRC would never ring like that!

If you receive a text saying it’s from HMRC about some tax refund and asking for your bank details or other personal info, just ignore it. Don’t click on any links they send you, it’s probably a scam.

Got a robocall supposedly from HMRC, saying I owed £1,350 in tax and would be arrested if I didn’t talk to an officer. Then some bloke with an Indian accent warned me they’d send the cops in an hour if I didn’t pay right away over the phone. Total scam! Make sure you report it so folks are warned!

Got a text from 'HMRC' claiming there’s a tax refund waiting for me. Just so you know, HMRC doesn’t send texts like that about refunds - it’s definitely a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC. They claimed I had a warrant out for fraud and told me to hit 1 to talk to an officer about sorting it out and paying the tax they said I owed right then. I wasn’t having any of it and just blocked the number!

Got a call from this number today, and they said if I didn’t press 1, I was gonna get a warrant issued and get arrested ASAP - supposedly from HMRC. It was some automated message pretending to be an officer. Definitely a scam, don’t trust it!

Got a voicemail saying there’s a warrant for my arrest over tax fraud, which freaked me out. The number looked like it was coming from HMRC but it was obviously a clone. I ended up calling HMRC myself and they confirmed it was a scam, said loads of people were getting the same kind of call. They told me to just ignore it and report it.

So, a mate of mine got a call from this number, but they were asking for someone else. They said it had something to do with tax fraud. He’s had loads of calls like this pretending to be from HMRC, always for the wrong person. I rang the number back from another phone just to check. Turns out, it’s actually HMRC, but they told me this number’s been CLONED. They said they’ve reported it to the cyber crime unit!

This number is actually the one HMRC uses, but scammers have been using it too to trick people into thinking they’re legit. I’ve blocked it now.
