I got a letter saying I’d paid too much, so I called the number they gave. While waiting on hold, I decided to check the number online and now I’m quite anxious about it.

They told me it was HMRC and I got stuck on the line for about six minutes before it clicked that HMRC wouldn’t be ringing my mobile like that! I’m not sure if it was one of those premium rate numbers, so maybe I’ve been charged without knowing. Some emails came through later but I just wiped them. Honestly, feeling really annoyed about the whole thing!

Some bloke rang up saying I'd be getting arrested. I cheekily replied how thrilled I was to be cuffed by a cop! Sadly, they just cut me off, and still no sign of the good-looking officer. I even got dolled up for the occasion. Typical!

Just got a call from 0300 200 3850, saying they were from HMRC, but it’s 100% a scam. I’ve had dealings with HMRC before and they never ring you like that. Don’t listen to anything they say and whatever you do, don’t press any numbers if they ask you to.

This number is definitely involved in fraud. They said I’d be in trouble with the law if I dared hang up. Don’t fall for it, it’s a complete scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC. When they asked for my name, I told them they should already have it. After that, the woman just ended the call. Not to be picky, but the accent sounded Asian to me. Probably a scam.

Got a call from ‪0300 200 3850‬ pretending to be from the HMRC tax office. They told me there was a fraud case opened against me and warned if I didn’t hit 1, I’d end up getting arrested soon! Total scam if you ask me.

I had a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, but it was a total scam. I rang the proper HMRC to report the number. When I told the scammer that if it was legit they’d send a letter or the police would come by, they hung up. I also told them to just wait and see if the local police turned up to sort them out!

This number has rang me before and I already blocked it once. Somehow, they got through to me again, so I've had to block it once more.

Got a call saying I'd committed tax fraud with Revenues and Customs - something about paying up or facing arrest. Didn’t wait around, just hung up and blocked the number straight away!

Just like others have said here, I got a call claiming to be from 'HMRC' saying I'd be arrested if I ended the call. Heard about this scam on the news not too long ago - so definitely don’t hit '1', best just to hang up straight away. If you actually owe HMRC anything, trust me, they’ll write to you properly, they’ve got your details and don’t randomly call like this.

Seriously, don’t hit 1 when they ask you! I'm just here, quietly waiting like they’re gonna come get me or something, because supposedly HMRC has a warrant for me over some tax fraud nonsense. These calls keep coming nonstop now. So frustrating!
