I tried ringing back after missing the call but got a message saying the number’s been disconnected? Bit odd.

This morning I got a call from 0300 200 3664 saying they were from HMRC and claimed there was some fraud case with me. They warned me to call back ASAP or I’d have a warrant issued for my arrest. Obviously, I didn’t bother calling them back. Seems like typical scam stuff.

Just got the exact same call myself.

Got a call earlier today saying it was from HMRC, telling me to press 1 to talk to an agent immediately. They said if I didn’t respond, a warrant would be issued. I just ended the call - I don’t even need to file a tax return, so it was obvious it was a scam, but still a bit worrying. I’ve blocked the number now. The number was 0300 200 3664.

Fake calls alert There’s been a lot of false calls pretending to be from HMRC saying you're being sued and to press one to talk to someone about paying up. Just a heads up, this is a total scam, so best to hang up straight away. These calls seem to mainly target older folks and those who might be more vulnerable. Sometimes they’ll claim you’re owed tax money and ask for your bank or card details. If you don’t know who’s calling for sure, it’s safer not to chat with them. If you lost any money because of this, please report it to Action Fraud. They use loads of different numbers, so if you get one of these calls, send the details - like when you got it, the number, and what they said - to [email protected] to help catch the scammers.

Got a voicemail from HMRC saying I was involved in some fraud and if I didn’t hit 1 to get in touch, I’d get arrested straight away. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.
