Got a call from 0300 2003761 recently, and guess what, the bloke’s name was also Sam Parker, sounded Indian too. He asked for my house number and postcode, supposedly for security checks. After putting me on hold, he came back asking if my address was XYZ. I fired back, "You tell me." Then he dropped the bomb that I owed £169 and needed to pay up. That’s when I smelled a rat. I said, “£169?” and he corrected sharply, “No, £1697.” I pushed him a bit, asked who he worked for and what company was after the money, but he couldn’t tell me anything. Tried to get a supervisor but he refused and then just hung up, shouting something about seeing me in court. Was totally shaken at first, said a few salty words under my breath, but after reading about this scam online, I’m a bit more relaxed now.

Got a call from these lot trying to scare me saying I’d get arrested if I didn’t ring them back. Total scam. I’ve already reported the number and kicked things off with Fraud Alert because loads of folks are falling for it and handing over personal info. Honestly, the world’s gone mad these days.

Got a call from this number earlier, and it was one of those robotic messages claiming to be from HMRC. They said if I didn't press 1 right away, I'd get a warrant and possibly be arrested. Honestly, it was pretty frightening!

This number showed up as a missed call on my phone so I tried calling back. After I dialled it, some kind of recorded message started saying thanks for contacting HM Revenue and Customs but that their lines were busy at the moment. I ended the call after that.

I kept getting calls from this number too, but didn’t pick up since they never left a voicemail. I started to get a bit anxious and decided to call HM Revenue using the official number I found on their site. While waiting forever on hold, I stumbled across this discussion and saw loads of people saying it’s a scam. Cheers for the heads-up! It’s ridiculous that government departments like HM Revenue don’t stop dodgy folks from using their old phone numbers!

Got a missed call from this number earlier and decided to look it up. Turns out it’s meant to be a free Northern Ireland number, which seemed odd. Honestly glad I looked it up here first, otherwise I might’ve fallen for a scam. The call lasted way longer than usual spam calls do, and it was quite unsettling, making me worry there was some kind of issue I hadn’t noticed. Definitely blocking it now!

I got a call from this number saying it was HMRC, telling me there’s some fraud case against me. It was an automated message, and I ended the call straight away cause it felt dodgy. Kinda worrying though that it actually shows up as HMRC on my phone.

This number called me saying I needed to pay my taxes either online or in cash, which sounded fishy because HMRC never asks for cash payments. I ended up reporting it straight to HMRC. Without a doubt, it’s a scam.

I saw I had a missed call from this number, so I decided to return it. When I called, there was an automated message saying they received a high number of calls and it might take some time before they could answer me. Then the recording asked if I was returning a missed call from them, acting like it could understand me. Afterwards, they said they needed to verify some security details, and the very first question was asking for my national insurance number - that's when I just ended the call.

I just received a call from this number telling me to press 1, or else they’d send someone to arrest me. When I rang back, they asked for my National Insurance number, but I fed them a made-up one. After that, an automated message came on saying they were busy and couldn’t assist me, then the call ended. Feels like a total scam to me, and honestly, it was pretty stressful.

Honestly, these lot are just scammers using threats to make people pay up quick or they'll say you're getting arrested straight away. What's sneaky is they've got a phone number that almost looks legit, kinda like HMRC's. Best thing is to just hang up right away and make sure you report them.

What makes you sure this is a scam though? I find it hard to believe that scammers would be using an official HMRC self-employed helpline number. From what I know, helpline numbers generally don't ring up out of the blue, ask for money, or threaten you with arrest. This feels like a new kind of fraud and really needs to be reported because I’ve heard some folks are handing over their National Insurance and addresses to them. Seriously, don’t share any info! If you want to check, call HMRC on a different number you find online instead.

Got a missed call from this number, so I called back. It was some automated voice asking me to answer security questions, which I did. Then a bloke came on the line telling me to block the number ’cause it’s a scam. Now I’m really worried since I gave out my security details. What’s the best thing to do next?
