I have received calls from this number four times in the past week. During the first call, I contacted the local police station who advised me to ignore it as a scam. I received a call today from someone claiming to be from HMRC, located at 100 Parliament Street in London. The person introduced themselves as Michael Wood. They stated that there was a tax fraud case against my name and requested me to provide my personal information, such as my name and address. I responded by rolling my eyes and questioning why, if they were indeed calling from the tax office, they didn't already have all my details on hand. In response, the caller threatened that a police officer would come and arrest me. I calmly replied, challenging them to go ahead with it. This seemed to confuse the caller, as they abruptly ended the call. I suspect that my response caught them off guard and they won't be bothering me with such calls again!
