I received a call at 4 in the afternoon, where the caller ominously claimed that I was about to be arrested for tax evasion. Naturally, I dismissed their threats as utter nonsense. It became evident they were attempting to con me out of £1,300!

Got a recorded call too, claiming there's a tax fraud probe against me and if I don't hit 1, I'll be arrested soon! Just ended the call immediately!

I ended the call straight away, half expecting the cops to show up any minute while I’m typing this. They were pretty slick, but I’m not easily fooled. No way they’re getting a single penny off me. I’m super cautious too and always double-check those cash machines!

Apparently, there's a warrant issued for my arrest related to some tax fraud or something like that. Weird, because I didn't get any warning before.

I’ve received a dodgy call that’s clearly a scam. It was a recorded voice masquerading as HMRC, but it’s absolutely not them! Whatever you do, don’t ring them back or hit “1” on your keypad. And if you happen to find yourself in conversation, steer clear of saying “Yes” as they’re recording everything and could twist it to falsely claim you agreed to something. They threaten you with arrest, but don’t be fooled - it’s all a load of rubbish. If you can, please report this number to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), as it’s using an 0300 prefix. These scammers need to be held accountable for their fraudulent activities!

BEWARE OF THIS INSIDIOUS SCAM! Whatever you do, DO NOT pick up the phone, DO NOT press any buttons, and certainly DO NOT return their call. There are absolutely no repercussions for ignoring their irritating and threatening communications. They masquerade as tax officials from HMRC, making alarming claims about impending arrest over fictitious tax debts, demanding swift payment! These unscrupulous criminals are incredibly manipulative, employing intimidation to swindle money from those who may be easily frightened, and have unfortunately taken advantage of several elderly individuals.

I got a message from a recorded voice pretending to be from HMRC saying there's tax fraud linked to me. It told me to press 1 to speak to a fraud investigator. Definitely a scam, and a risky one at that.

I received a dreadful voicemail claiming that I had an outstanding debt to HMRC and that I needed to press 1 immediately, or else I’d be facing arrest soon. Clearly, it’s a scam! I didn't fall for it; I simply hung up the phone.

Got a recorded call saying I was being looked into for tax dodging and to hit 1 or else I’d get a warrant. I ended the call straight away and rang the tax department directly. They told me it was a scam and said they never call from private numbers - they always send official letters if there's an issue. So yeah, don’t press 1, just hang up and check with the tax office yourself.

This is totally a con - they say they're from HMRC and use that terrifying "pay up now or we'll come after you" threat. They even try to sweeten it by saying you can get a discount if you pay immediately. That’s not how HMRC operates at all. Honestly, just end the call and don’t engage with them.
