Got a call from what sounded like HMRC, those automated ones. They kept saying if I didn’t press 1 I could get arrested. Just put the phone down and blocked the number straight away.

Somebody called me pretending to be from HMRC, saying if I didn’t hit 1 straight away, they’d put out a warrant with my name on it. I just walked away from the phone and they ended up hanging up.

i got a call from someone saying they were with hmrc and were looking into some tax fraud linked to me. they told me to press 1, but as soon as i heard that i just hung up. ive blocked the number now, but i reckon this could have been quite risky. x
