03002003178 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03002003178 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving calls impersonating HMRC, often using threats of arrest and legal action for alleged tax fraud. Callers typically urge recipients to press 1 to speak with an "officer," frequently named Jason Harris, and demand immediate payment. These calls employ intimidating tactics, including claims of warrants, cancelled documents, or police involvement, targeting vulnerable individuals. The numbers used are likely spoofed, and HMRC emphasises they would only communicate official matters in writing, not by phone. Victims are advised to avoid interaction, not press any options, and report the calls. The scam is widespread and reoccurring despite being well-known, requiring continued vigilance to prevent financial loss or distress.

Got a call from 02089770071, some bloke named Jason Harris on the line. He told me to press 1 and demanded £497.00, saying I'd be taken to court if I didn't pay up. He even threw in a case and reference number to make it sound legit. What a load of rubbish.

Classic HMRC scam on the line again, with one of those recorded messages. Most likely someone’s faking the number to trick people. If they manage to fool even a single person, they could drain their bank balance completely and walk away with a decent amount of cash. These scams are everywhere now but imagine if they targeted an elderly or vulnerable person - that could end badly.

Lately, I've been hearing about this phone scam where folks get a voicemail that's supposedly from HMRC. The message says HMRC is taking legal action against you and demands you ring back, pressing 1 to talk to the officer handling your 'case'. It's popping up loads recently and I reckon they're mainly aiming at pensioners or older people. Stay alert, it sounds dodgy.

On Saturday morning, around 11:15am on the 5th of October 2019, I received a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be Officer Jason Harris - 98560LR - from HMRC. He claimed that several letters had been sent to my home, accusing me of purposely defrauding HMRC. The bloke then threatened to involve the police and have me arrested at my own place, also saying he could cancel my passport and driving licence. He was really aggressive, and when I tried to deny the allegations, he just shouted down the phone that I had nobody to blame but myself!!!

Honestly, I can't imagine anyone these days still getting caught by that same old scam. Surely it’s been sorted out a long time ago, right? It’s just too obvious now.

Got a call from this number saying I had some sort of arrest warrant and that I needed a solicitor ready. I kept asking for more details to be clear, but after asking like five times, the bloke just hung up on me. These kinds of scams really ought to be stopped!

You should send this to [email protected]. They are shutting down loads of numbers constantly. Keep flagging them, and they'll continue to block these calls.

Received a call from a UK number, 03002003178, claiming to be HMRC. They insisted I had tax issues and were sending a warrant for my arrest right away. Well, good luck with that, since I’m actually living out in the sticks in France. Bit odd, considering I just settled my tax bill. Has someone managed to spoof HMRC’s number or what?

I just received a call from 03002003178 and an automated message claimed I’d be arrested if I didn’t press 1, saying there’s some kind of tax fraud investigation against me. At first, I was really freaked out, but after reading the comments here, I felt a bit better knowing it’s probably a scam.

I got one of those automated calls too, saying it was from HMRC and if I didn’t press 1 to talk to an HMRC agent, I'd be arrested for tax evasion or something. It's pretty scary stuff and honestly, I worry some older folks or those less tech-savvy might fall for it and end up racking up huge phone bills. The number was 03002003178. So annoying how they trick people like that!

Just got a call a bit ago, and it seemed totally dodgy to me. I didn’t answer, but later got a voicemail saying something like “you're implicated in tax fraud, press 1 or get arrested soon.” Honestly, I have no clue what they were trying to pull. Watch out for calls like this, it’s sketchy stuff.

I got a call from this number where a woman said she was from HMRC and accused me of tax fraud. She was pretty insistent, saying I’d be arrested in less than an hour unless I dealt with this ‘case’ right away and had a criminal lawyer lined up to handle it. It all felt very suspicious.

Got a really nasty call from someone pretending to be from the Inland Revenue, saying I'd get arrested if I didn’t hit 1 to talk to them. Why is no one putting a stop to these scams? I mean, fine, PPI and dodgy double glazing calls are annoying, but this kind of thing is on a whole other level and they really ought to be busted.

Scam alert! Had a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, threatening me with arrest over supposed tax fraud and evasion - they said there were 4 cases against me. Then they asked me to transfer £1450 through my online banking. They said the officer’s name was Jason Harris, gave me a case number 892241761 and some warrant ID #esa248-1965. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!
