I got a weird robo call saying something like "You did tax fraud, press 1 to admit or an arrest warrant is going out." I just hung up right away since I’m pretty sure HMRC never calls like that.

I’ve had loads of calls from numbers like 0300 200 3180, all scams as far as I can tell. I’ve ended up blocking way more of these than I’ve actually answered. There’s got to be a better way to stop this madness, right?

For the past week, they've been calling me multiple times daily. It's just some automated robot on the line, and it keeps going on with a full chat even if you stay silent!

Scam alert! Got an automated call saying I’d be arrested if I didn’t press 1 about some tax fraud. Totally rubbish. Just blocked the number and ignored it. No way HMRC would ring you up like that!

I pick up, but as soon as there's a silence before they start talking, I just end the call. Usually, it’s just some telemarketer from a call centre. Honestly, it’s probably for the best I do that. Automated calls get ignored by me as well. Recently got one claiming to be BT saying there was an issue with our phone line - but we don’t even use BT! I’ve reported that number to both the phone company and BT itself.

Got the same voicemail from them. I've even had to block my door so when the ‘arrest squad’ turns up, they won’t be able to get in 😂😂 Honestly, they’re a joke, acting like no one knows their own tax status. - caller: Scam

They actually knew my middle names, which surprised me. Then they told me all I needed to do was wait around. I told them, “Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that,” and the guy just said, “I’m aware you don’t understand, we’ll be sending someone to collect you.” Quite strange, honestly.
