03002003175 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03002003175 👆 is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam impersonating HMRC, using automated messages threatening arrest for alleged tax fraud unless the receiver presses a key to speak with a supposed officer. Genuine HMRC would not initiate contact in this manner or demand personal financial details over the phone. These calls often come from numbers resembling legitimate HMRC lines but with slight alterations, especially on bank holidays when official offices are closed. Many victims express distress, particularly older or vulnerable individuals, with reports of hostile responses from scammers when challenged. It is strongly advised to never engage, press keys, or provide information, instead hang up immediately, block the number, and report the incident to HMRC and relevant authorities.

Got a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC, saying if I didn’t press 1 they’d issue an arrest warrant. Honestly, HMRC don’t get in touch like that and would never ask for stuff like my bank details over the phone. Total scam.

Got a call on my home phone the other day from someone saying they were from HMRC and warning me about jail time if I didn’t pay up with vouchers. If you get one like this, just end the call straightaway and let HMRC know about it - they can try and stop these fraudsters from using the phone lines.

Without a doubt, it was one of those common HMRC scams. I've received a couple of these myself, so I recognised it straight away. Just for a bit of fun, I pressed 1 to see what they'd do next. Ended up speaking to a pretty nasty and pushy Asian woman who hung up the moment I asked what she was after. Always watch out for these calls and never ever hand over your bank details to anyone ringing you!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I’d not paid enough tax and that I’d be arrested with a warrant soon. They wanted me to press 1 to talk to an “officer” to sort it out and pay over the phone. Complete scam, don’t fall for it!

I got a phone call with a recorded message telling me to press one because apparently I’ve done something dodgy with my taxes, and if I don’t press one the police are gonna come and arrest me! The message was a robot voice and only went on for about half a minute. I just ended the call straight away but I can imagine how terrifying this could be for someone who’s not so tech-savvy or easily worried. I’ve already let HMRC know about it.

Mate, I had a proper panic attack just now when this bloke called me saying stuff about "fraud" and threatening I'd be nicked. Was terrified until I looked up the number and found all these posts saying the same thing. Honestly, this creep should be locked up for what he's doing! Seriously thinking of reporting him to the cops. Cheers, everyone, for sharing your experiences, it really put my mind at ease. Wish my partner was around to deal with this idiot on the phone - he'd have a right laugh with him! Shame he missed it. - caller: 0300 200 3975

Got a call from 3175, an automated number claiming to be from my bank. They tried using my personal info to get into my account, but thankfully they slipped up somewhere. Still, these folks are doing everything they can to scam people out of money. It's scary because they supposedly called from my bank! Be careful who you answer to, especially when using your card. As a result, I’m now stuck with no access to online banking and my card was blocked. They said I had no choice but to wait for a new card, making me feel even more exposed than usual.

Cheers to all for sharing your experiences. I never pick up calls from unknown numbers and make sure to look them up here first. It’s shocking how many vulnerable folks might get caught out by these scams. The people behind this deserve to be caught and charged, no doubt about it.

I got a voicemail from 0300 200 3149 claiming there was a tax fraud issue with HMRC and threatening me with an arrest warrant if I didn’t call back and press option 1. When I rang them back, the number said it was for the Environment Agency in Manchester and then went dead. Also, I had a call from 0300 200 3175 but they didn’t leave any message. Seems like a total scam to me.

Just a heads up folks, these scammers are constantly changing the last few digits of their numbers, pretending to be HMRC with 0300 200 xxxx. They swap out the final four digits every day - it's like 3143, 3175, 3141 or anything between 0000 to 9999. So be careful, never hit 1 or you might get stuck with a massive phone bill. The best thing is to hang up straight away, block the number, or report it to 1572. They were still ringing non-stop even on the bank holiday Monday, despite all HMRC offices being closed! No one was there to take calls, it’s all just a big scam. Stay alert!

Got a call from this number and when I pressed 1 to talk, the bloke kept muting himself on the headset as he couldn’t find his office address. I kept telling him he was saying things that didn’t add up, and then, out of nowhere, he ended with saying the police were coming! Made me laugh.

Got a call at 9 in the morning on a Bank Holiday Monday, proper irritating! Some robotic voice claimed to be from HMRC saying I was under investigation for tax evasion. Absolute rubbish and total bastards! They scared the life out of my 14 year old daughter, telling her she’d done fraud and was going to be nicked. She was crying so much, it was awful. When I grabbed the phone off her and told them she’s only a kid, they just laughed and dropped the call. I’ve blocked the number and reported it to the cops, but I doubt they’ll do anything, just like all the other times these clowns have targeted her 😡😡

I recently received a phone call from this number. Upon picking up, a chap on the line claimed he was from HMRC, stating they had identified some fraudulent activity linked to my name. Got a call at 11:19 from someone claiming to be Elizabeth representing HMRC. They told me I supposedly had a warrant against me under HMRC Section 150 for £1900. I asked them what address they had on record, saying I wanted to make sure they came to the right place for my "arrest", ha! Then I requested a case reference number, and that's when they suddenly ended the call. Watch out, these scammers are really active nowadays, practically every single day. Cheers, Brenda.

Got a call today supposedly from HMRC with some bloke named Sam Banker - bet his real name was something like Ahmed Lotti Doshi. I felt bad for the poor young lass who picked up. Loads of elderly folks must be getting these scam calls using fake HMRC numbers starting with 0300200----. Since it was a Bank Holiday Monday, everything’s closed, and no one from the government is actually phoning you. Best thing to do is just hang up straight away (don't press 1 or you'll risk racking up a massive phone bill). Just block the number or send it to voicemail - better safe than sorry.

Loads of scam calls pretending to be from HMRC even on a bank holiday Monday when their offices are closed! Nobody's actually answering at that time. Big stores like Tesco and Sainsburys are shut by 6pm anyway. These fraudsters use numbers that look exactly like real HMRC ones, starting with 0300... Don't follow their prompts or press 1, it’ll probably rack up an expensive phone bill. Best to just hang up, report the number to 1572, or block them altogether.

Me too, I actually hit 1 and hung about for ages listening to some American voicemail and classical music or something. Then they said something about legal action because I’d supposedly been dodging my taxes for four years. Apparently, they’d sent me letters but I wasn’t in to sign for them. Proper daft scams going on atm. With all the usual places like job centres closed for bank holidays, schools off, council services not running and even the big supermarkets shutting by 6pm, it’s just scammers buzzing about pretending to be HMRC using fake, cloned numbers starting 0300200---. The best thing is to just hang up and ignore, chuck their calls straight to 1572, never press 1 or anything, or you could end up with a massive phone bill. Got a call from the number mentioned here, though I have no clue who it was. I usually avoid picking up unknown numbers and always search them online before deciding to block. Just shot an email off to HMRC since it seems like they were the ones trying to get in touch.

Got a voicemail warning me that if I didn’t hit one straight away, they would go ahead and issue a warrant for me! It was obviously some automated message.

Just like others have said here, I got a voicemail telling me to ring back or I’d face arrest. Honestly, it was really upsetting to listen to. I’ve already blocked the number now.

A bloke called saying I'd done some fraud and owed HMRC loads of cash, and that they'd get a warrant out for me if I didn’t pay. I just told him to send me the court papers and that I’d meet them there with the cops. Then he just went quiet and hung up!

Somebody called me and kept saying I'd get arrested if I didn't pay up. Definite scammers from abroad, no doubt.
