Got a call from someone pretending to be from HRMC, reckon it's a Micky Mouse scam. Best thing to do is let HMRC know everything about it - like when it happened, what number rang you, and what they said. You can drop them an email at [email protected]. Don’t ignore it!

Got woken up by this number 03002002907 with a recorded message saying I’m involved in some tax fraud thing. Looked it up and turns out loads of people are getting the same scam calls. Proper annoying, not just cos it ruined my Saturday morning sleep but because loads of vulnerable folks could get really hurt by this. I knew someone who got seriously messed up from calls like this before. If you get this call or message from this number, do yourself a favour and block it, report it, and shout about it even here. I received a call purporting to be from HMRC, instructing me to hold on and hit 1 to connect with an agent. Oddly enough, I've had no correspondence from them in the mail. I tried returning the call, but all I got was a message saying their line was busy. Quite frustrating, really!

Just got another bogus call pretending to be from HMRC. It's starting to really annoy me. I’m seriously thinking about emailing my MP like someone recommended - can’t hurt to try. By the way, anyone know what gumtree is? I’ve never even heard of it, so not sure if these scammers are lifting numbers from there or what. I don’t put my number anywhere online anyway.

Lately, I’ve been getting calls like this pretty much every day. Is there anything that can actually be done to put a stop to these scam callers and maybe even make them pay for it?

Got a call from this number today, some automated voice claiming I was involved in tax fraud. I had a similar one a few months back. Bloody HMRC, never cracking down on these scammers properly.

This is the 7th time this week I’ve been rung up, always from different numbers. It usually happens after I put an ad on Gumtree. I reckon these scammers must be grabbing phone numbers from there or something.

Got a call from 0300 200 2907, some dodgy claim about me owing tax and threatening to get me arrested if I don’t cough up. Total rubbish, just another scam pretending to be HMRC! Don’t fall for it.

Got a call too, and just the robotic voice was a big red flag that this wasn’t someone you want to deal with. Then they say stuff like “press this now or you’ll be arrested straight away,” which sounds really scary, especially for people who aren’t sure what’s going on and might do what they say out of fear. Honestly, these companies doing this should be shut down.

Got a call claiming it was HMRC about some fraud on my tax record under my name. They said if I didn’t sort it out quick, I’d get a prison warrant. The message told me to press 1 to talk to their help team. I pressed 1 and someone actually answered, but then the call dropped. Tried ringing back but couldn’t get through again.

Got a robocall supposedly from HMRC saying I’m under investigation for tax fraud. It said to press 1 to stop a warrant from being issued, and if I hung up the police would come straight away to arrest me. Was actually at the hospital for an appointment so I missed their little chat. Honestly, it’s good I know about these scams - these scammers really are despicable, always targeting elderly and vulnerable people.
