I got a call from a guy who said his name was David Sampson, telling me my computer had a virus and he could sort it out. Obviously, it was a total scam, everyone knows these kind of calls are just a con!

They keep ringing at odd times, but when I answer there's no one there. Bet they'll try calling me from another number soon enough.

I got a call from a firm named Switch and Save, claiming they'd be lowering my line rental by about £4 every month. The woman on the phone, Fiona, had quite a strong foreign accent.

Got a call from a bloke named Charles, sounded Indian, claiming to be from "BT OpenReach," saying he could cut my line rental down to £14.99 per month. When he asked what kind of calls and how many I make on my landline, I said if he was really from my provider he’d know that info already. Then he suddenly insisted he wasn’t with them, so I asked why he pretended to be. After that I just got the usual click and silence. Total scam.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who was trying to help lower my phone charges. Once I mentioned I preferred to receive paper bills, she suddenly stopped talking and then passed me onto her manager. He asked for my email to send info about their offers, but I didn’t give it. They said they worked for V4 Telecom based in Coventry. Honestly, they asked for quite a bit of personal stuff and I’m just not comfortable sharing that with people I don’t know, whether on the phone or online. They’ve called me several times lately too.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent claiming there was a problem with my computer, telling me to switch it on. I messed with him for around five minutes before losing interest. Honestly, it’s always the same rubbish these scammers trot out - by now, most folks should be wise enough to spot the scam and just hang up or have a laugh at them while they keep trying to sound legit. The whistle bit was gold though, reckon it probably gave them a decent headache!

Got a call from some bloke named 'Charles' saying my computer’s having issues every time I go online. I asked him how he found that out. He claimed the computer sends them updates automatically. Then I questioned why, if he was from Microsoft, he didn’t just say so? Plus, if there was a problem, why didn’t my McAfee pop up a warning? I shelled out good money for that! Also, I asked which of my three computers he meant. Finished by telling him he’s a right nasty git for doing this and to stop it immediately. Didn’t even let him get a word in. :D

I get these dodgy computer scam calls quite often. Sometimes I mess around with the caller for like 10-15 minutes, but on a rough day, I just snap and shout 'Get lost!' Honestly, it’s so annoying and feels like harassment. I’m fairly tech-literate, so I can handle it, but I can’t imagine how horrible it must be for those who aren’t. Why isn’t the TPS cracking down on this already?

So, got a call today from someone saying there’s an issue with my computer. I decided to mess about with the bloke, having him guide me to switch it on and all that. Towards the end, he asked what was showing on my screen, I said "Scottish Police Service". Then, I asked him if he could wait a bit, about 20 seconds, so I could try and trace his number. Well, that turned into 10 minutes of his time just wasted. Eventually, he just disconnected. Total scammer.

I picked up the phone when it rang, and some bloke started saying there was an issue with my internet. I told him it was fine since I was actually online at that very moment. Then he warned me the internet would probably stop working in a few days. I mentioned I’ve got McAfee and a firewall set up, so I’m pretty secure.
