Rang my home phone but didn’t respond when I picked up; the call just dropped off.

Quite pushy and overbearing, I must say. Ended the call abruptly on my end.

I wasn’t familiar with the number, so I chose not to answer. They didn't leave any voicemail either. After looking it up on this website, I decided to block the number.

I tried ringing 01970607718, but it just went to voicemail and no message was recorded. How odd!

Definitely not a genuine individual on the other end—just a robot spouting the same few scripted lines over and over. They were keen to push a medical alert pendant and seemed to have gotten hold of some info from the council, claiming an elderly resident resided at this address. Once I clocked that it was a cold call, I promptly ended the conversation.

I was attempting to suggest the idea of acquiring a medical alert system for incidents like falls, but the conversation quickly ended when I probed into why I couldn't simply obtain one via my local health centre.

The phone chimed just before half-past twelve. I picked it up and said, "Hello there" - yet, there was just silence on the other end. I repeated myself, "Is anyone there?" but still no reply before they abruptly ended the call.

Received a rather peculiar call from 01970607718 earlier today. When I picked up, there was absolute silence on the other end. I waited for a few minutes in case someone decided to finally say something, but nothing came through. Eventually, I became fed up and decided to end the call. I've also taken the precaution of blocking that number to avoid any further disturbances.

I received a rather peculiar call from someone who spoke impeccable English—certainly not a Welsh accent. They were inquiring about my age and health history, but the line began to crackle quite badly. In the end, I decided it best to just hang up and block the number.

I received a call from an individual claiming that I qualified for a complimentary medical alert bracelet. He proceeded to probe me with questions about my health issues. When I expressed my doubts regarding my eligibility, he persistently suggested that I required a panic button device for emergencies, despite the fact that I don’t reside by myself.

I've been receiving calls pushing a subscription for some kind of "medical alert service." Honestly, it's best to steer clear of these scam artists. Don't share any of your personal information with them!

I reckon this could be one of those dodgy medical scam calls. The bloke claimed he was ringing from Dorset, yet the number had an Aberystwyth area code—definitely a bit suspect!

I received a call at my elderly mother's residence that nearly had me fooled. The voice on the line seemed quite familiar and amiable, but then they started probing for personal details. I thought to myself, “Surely the NHS already possesses this information!”
As I attempted to end the call, they insisted it was a unique opportunity that I needed to seize immediately!
It all felt rather dodgy—definitely a scam aiming for either information or cash, if not both.

This morning, I received a call from 01970607718 claiming that I could qualify for a medical alert device. The caller inquired if I was over the age of fifty. Upon confirming, the person abruptly ended the call. Quite odd, isn’t it?

I received a call purportedly from a medical alert service, inquiring whether I was over the age of 50. Remarkably, they seemed disinterested in knowing my name or any details about my health, which raised a few red flags. This feels rather like a scam to me, and I wouldn't recommend engaging with them.

Received a phone call from a medical alert service concerning a complimentary pendant. The person on the other end inquired whether I was over fifty. I mentioned that we already possess one (which we do). He kindly thanked me, wished me a pleasant day, and then hung up.

ABSOLUTELY A CON! The call claimed to be regarding a medical alert device. My mother owns one, so I inquired if he was referring to hers. He confirmed, yet proceeded to chatter away, completely ignoring my queries and relentlessly attempting to peddle his so-called medical alert system.

I received a call suggesting I qualify for a medical alert pendant. I promptly told them I had absolutely no use for one. The caller then inquired whether I was over 50, to which I confirmed, and proceeded to ask if I required a cane or any sort of walking assistance—I assured them that I did not!

Absolutely sounds like a con artist fishing for personal info or cash, cloaked in some dubious medical nonsense. The chap was clearly reading from a script, doing his utmost to dodge my queries. I told him I would go grab "my mother" and then left the phone idle for a good five minutes.

I received a call from 01970607718 earlier today. The chap on the line, claiming to be 'John' from 'Medical Alert', informed me that I was qualified for a health alarm system and wanted to ask me a few questions. Before he could get too far, I cut him off and firmly stated, "Not a chance, I'm not interested at all." Then I promptly disconnected.

It seems to be a pre-recorded message that adapts its responses based on what you say. The voice on the line is distinctly English, and when I probed about how they obtained my number, the answers felt rather robotic, almost like they were being fed from a script. It's quite a cunning little scam they've got going on, though there’s definitely a noticeable pause before each response.

"Just as I picked up the phone, they disconnected the call, leaving me puzzled about their identity. They've attempted to reach me multiple times while I've been busy at work, but not once did they bother to leave a voicemail. I've now added them to my block list."

I received a call today at precisely 16:34 from someone who seemed to be following a script rather rigidly. His pitch was all about persuading me to reveal whether I required a complimentary medical alert system. Naturally, I probed him about how he acquired my name and number. He mentioned that his manager supplies him with lists daily to contact individuals. I brought up the GDPR regulations and then promptly ended the conversation. It appeared he wasn’t too pleased with my line of questioning. Just a heads-up: the number in question is 09710 607718, and it appears to be linked to the Aberystwyth region in Wales. Stay cautious!

I've just experienced a rather similar phone call myself. The chap claimed he hailed from Dorset, which was the first sign that something wasn't right. He inquired whether I was over 50, and if I used a walking stick or mobility aid. He also wanted to know if I suffered from diabetes, all under the guise of offering a complimentary Medical Alert system. I pressed him on what I should do if I ever needed assistance. I too quizzed him about how they obtained this list, although he didn’t seem to have a clue what my name was. I flat out asked him why I'd divulge any personal information to a stranger on the phone. He responded that he was new and didn’t have the answers, but promised that his supervisor would. I then informed him that I believed this was a scam, and he promptly hung up. It's truly appalling behaviour; never reveal any personal details to these callers!

I'm curious about how one qualifies for a medical alert pendant. What are the criteria to be considered eligible for it?
2 years
Recently, a rather youthful chap from England contacted me, claiming to have received my information from the local hospital to see if I might be eligible for a complimentary medical alert button device. He inquired whether I was over fifty, if I used a walking stick or frame, and then informed me that I was one of the last seven individuals in my vicinity who could be offered this free device, in exchange for a testimonial. While the device itself would come at no cost, they would charge a £0.99 daily fee for monitoring. He then requested me to spell out my first and last names for verification purposes. In response, I pressed him about the source of my details, to which he mentioned that he received a daily list from his manager, asserting that their company had been given access to the information of individuals who might qualify, courtesy of local medical facilities and doctors. Curious as to what else he needed from me, he sought to transfer the call to their verification department. When I probed what specifics they were after, he tossed out a question regarding my typical payment method. When I queried if he expected my credit card details, he affirmed that he'd require them for the dispatch of the device, citing identity verification as the reason. I firmly told him I never disclose card information over the phone. Despite my objections, he continued to speak over me, insisting on my details, prompting me to finally end the call. An absolute red flag in my book—this was a glaring attempt at fraud, pure and simple.

UNWANTED CALLS ... 01970 607718 Today, I had a rather suspicious call from this particular number, purporting to be from 'The Medical Alert Centre'. However, as soon as the gentleman began probing me with questions, I realised it was a dodgy operation and decided to end the conversation promptly.
