He started talking about some recent government rule changes, saying I might be concerned or already aware of them. When I asked what rules he was referring to, he told me they were new laws that could make me have to sell my house. It sounded fishy to me, maybe linked to care fees, so I figured it was a scam. This was the second time in a few days I’d had a call like this, so I just hung up.

On 21/6/22, got a call from a bloke with an English accent claiming he worked for some Estate Protection Service. He started talking about new rules I must’ve heard about, trying to scare me. When I asked what rules exactly, he said it was a government thing that would make me sell my home. I reckoned it was some dodgy scam about care fees or something. This was the second time in a few days I'd got a call like this. I just ended the call right there.

Even though I’m signed up with the TPS, I got a random call anyway. I didn’t say anything at first, hoping they’d just hang up like usual, but they didn’t. When I finally replied, a person actually answered. From what I’ve read online, it sounds like it could be a scam.

SCAM ALERT! Got a call from some dodgy lot trying to flog me a scheme that supposedly stops the government from seizing your house if you end up in care. Total scam. These con artists should be shut down and punished properly. Seriously, Ofcom, when are you gonna crack down on these numbers? Received a ring from a chap who sounded quite youthful, claiming to be with something along the lines of State Protection Services. He was offering to arrange a follow-up call with a legal expert who could supposedly guide me on how to safeguard my property's worth against the expenses of elder care. He suggested scheduling a CALLBACK and asked if that would be acceptable. I replied that I was somewhat interested but preferred to check out their website beforehand. He happily agreed and then thanked me for my time before hanging up. Quite amusing how he seemed a bit hesitant about the website, really!

Lately, I've had three calls from this number, and each time it seems to be the same voice but with different excuses.
