Received a call from an automated voice informing me that I had a text message waiting from a different number. It prompted me to press '1' to listen to the message, but I decided to hang up instead. Quite suspicious, really!

I had a chat with Alex too. He’s a proper charming chap, very articulate. I tend to be a bit too polite and let him go on without cutting in. He was going on about using equity from your mortgage to fund care home costs down the line. Mentioned something about a £25 voucher as well. Apparently, a solicitor is meant to call me tomorrow, but I’ve no intention of picking up that call!

I reckon this number is dodgy. It called us out of the blue, then went completely quiet. Seems like it’s one of those automated systems trying to verify if phone lines are valid. Quite the nuisance, to be honest!
