Got a call from someone called Sam claiming to be with Estate Protection Services, which is actually a legit firm from the Midlands, not Wales like he said. He told me the government is going to make me sell my house to pay for care - which I have no plans for whatsoever! He mentioned it might’ve been on BBC News and acted all scary about it. Then he said his company could assist me. I told him his call was against the rules and that I’d report him to the TPS, and he just cut me off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from ‘Estate Planning’. Sounded super slick and well-spoken, but I doubt they were actually ringing from Aberystwyth. Felt like a total scam to me. As soon as I cut him off and told him I’m a retired finance expert and don’t need any help, he pretty much hung up straight away.

Got a call from 01970 607597, some bloke saying he was from State Protection and mentioned a BBC news report about home equity, which seemed iffy. He wouldn’t stop yapping and kept talking over me, had to raise my voice just to get a word in. When I told him I live in a council flat, he lost interest straight away. Pretty obvious it was some kind of scam.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was with some kind of government protection service. Mentioned the BBC at one point. He launched into a bit about how they could help me keep my home’s value safe if I ever needed care. Told him I was already sorted and not interested. That didn’t faze him though! He went on about some “consultation” I supposedly qualified for and tried to set one up. I had to tell him off a few times, said he clearly wasn’t hearing a word I was saying and I didn’t want anything to do with it. Felt like a total scam. Stay well clear!
