This is EE located at Doxford Park in Sunderland. I hold three accounts with their service, and this recent call was an attempt to switch my emergency backup SIM to a contract. Just yesterday, I tried to trip them up by providing false information, leaving the poor chap quite deflated when I mentioned all the unfavourable reviews I've seen on this site, which prompted him to say, "I can’t finish this call." Earlier today, I received a survey asking "How Likely" I was to recommend them, directed to my number from EE.

They sent a text with a code, which they requested I repeat over the phone - I decided to terminate the call instead. Earlier this week, I had a rather similar encounter, this time from an "Amazon" representative, who insisted that I had ordered a new iPhone costing £1,400 and asked if I wanted to cancel it. They too provided a code, but I hung up promptly. That whole code-giving routine can seem quite convincing, yet I wouldn’t put my trust in it. It feels like an attempt to breach your security once you confirm the code they give you.
