I received a dodgy call from someone claiming to be from EE; she had a Geordie accent, which was a bit of a giveaway. She started offering me some sort of discount, which was rather amusing since I’m not even a customer of theirs! As soon as I pointed that out, she hung up without a word. Quite the experience, really!

Right, I’ve just had a natter with EE via their chat service to clarify this matter. Turns out, the number is indeed authentic - I suspect it may belong to one of their partners. They’ve even made a note on my account regarding my previous call. So, it’s confirmed that this is an EE partner reaching out, likely to offer some additional services. It’s not a scam, just a tad bothersome, to be honest. :)

Got a call from 0191 516 1643 claiming to be EE, saying they wanted to thank me for being a loyal customer. They asked for my name, then told me I had no password on my account. I told them I did, but they insisted otherwise, so I just hung up. Right at the start, the guy said calls were recorded, which he reckoned meant I could call him names but he couldn’t do the same back. Proper cheeky.

Received a call claiming to be from EE about some sort of rewards linked to my account. They wanted me to verify my full name, but I pointed out that they should have that information already. They insisted it was a GDPR requirement, but I wasn't feeling it and decided to terminate the call. Honestly, I had no intention of divulging any personal information to them.

Recently upgraded my EE plan, and then I received a rather dodgy call. The chap claimed to be from their service department, trying to entice me with a cheaper deal-but it came with the catch of needing a new number and sending back my shiny new phone. He was incredibly pushy, much like your average sales rep. To top it off, I could hear clapping away in the background, and it reeked of nonsense. I decided to ring up EE afterwards to inform them, as I’d accidentally shared my name and number. Feeling a bit foolish now, but thankfully, they didn’t manage to extract anything more from me!

This number has been blowing up my phone pretty much every day for a while now, and it shows up as maybe being a scam. I've flagged it as risky but it's also really annoying. Honestly, Ofcom should just ban these people because I’ve missed important calls from the NHS cause I’m scared to pick up unknown numbers.

No idea who called as no-one picked up, but I reckon its a dodgy HMRC scam or some telemarketer messing about. Proper harassment. Best not to answer this number, it might be risky! Annoying that they’re bugging a 17 year old who’s just at college.

This was an EE sales team number reaching out to existing clients. I requested they ring me back at a more convenient time, which they actually did, and I managed to verify who they were. They never asked for any private info and I was pretty firm during the chat, so I managed to stop the caller from pushing products I wasn’t interested in. I’ve been thinking about getting a new tablet since mine is ancient (one of the original iPads) and ended up with a decent offer without feeling pushed into anything.

Received a phone call claiming to be from EE, stating that as a "valued customer," I was entitled to some extra perks and bonuses. They enquired whether I was keen on it. I responded by saying I’d prefer to check my online account for any updates, as the whole thing seemed a bit odd. The representative insisted that these perks weren't listed online, which raised alarm bells for me. I decided to wrap up the conversation promptly, feeling quite uneasy about it all.

I received a call from a lass with a Geordie accent, claiming to have some EE offers linked to my current contract. She seemed quite genuine, but I mentioned it wasn't the best moment to carry on the conversation. After I had a gander at my EE account to see if there was any mention of such promotions or customer calls, I found absolutely nowt, apart from this thread. Seems a bit fishy to me, definitely a scam or at the very least, a bit dodgy.

I received a call from a Geordie lass using the number 0191 516 1643, claiming to represent EE. She mentioned that due to my solid payment history and my longstanding relationship with them, I qualified for some enticing upgrades and offers on devices like an iPad and an Apple Watch. When I mentioned that I was busy and would prefer to check out the new deals online, she insisted that these offers were not listed on my account and could only be revealed during a "live call." She asked if she could ring me back at a more suitable time, but I expressed my reservations, citing a general unease regarding unsolicited calls. She was quite understanding but didn't attempt to put my mind at ease regarding the legitimacy of her call. While her initial greeting with my name was rather convincing, as soon as she mentioned that I couldn’t find these offers on their app, I sensed something amiss. It just didn’t feel right.

I had a right odd encounter the other day. A lass with a Geordie accent rang me up, claiming she could switch my EE plan to a pay monthly deal. She was asking how frequently I topped up my credit. I mentioned that they had already cut me off from the monthly plan before, and she just brushed it off, saying that I wouldn’t qualify for it at the moment but they’d circle back later in the year. If it was dodgy, it certainly sounded convincing enough. Quite unnerving, to be honest!

A bloke with a Geordie twang rang me up, claiming to be from EE, chatting about some benefits and offers they had on hand. I pried a bit about the Apple Watch, and he shared a few bits and pieces. Thankfully, he didn’t delve into any personal info like my bank details or full password, but did ask me to verify my home address. Oddly enough, I haven’t seen a confirmation email about my order-or anything, really-when I checked my EE account. Now that I ponder it, it’s all sounding a bit suspect!
