I got a call on my son’s mobile, which was quite irritating. They said they were from EE. But EE knows this phone is for my son only and to get in touch with me since the account is in my name. The lady sounded quite pushy and talked really fast, just like salespeople do! I had doubts they were legit. If I want to talk to EE, I’ll ring them myself. They’ve never called me before trying to sell cheaper SIMs or deals!

I GOT a unlocked phone from CURRYS / PC WORLD and also got a pay-as-you-go SIM... I don't want these calls from EE pushing contracts on me. It's a FAKE call from someone pretending to be EE, trying to STEAL personal details.

Avoid picking up any calls claiming to be from EE… It's a phone scam with the same trick again. Best thing is to just pop into an EE shop and sort your pay-as-you-go or contract deal in person only.

BANK SCAMS.. I’ve had calls where someone pretends to be from my bank saying there’s an issue with my card or account. They usually sound really official, trying to scare you by saying your card’s been copied or your money’s in danger... They’ll ask for your card details, account number, sometimes even your PIN, and might say they’ll send someone to pick up your card. They’ll also tell you to move your money to a ‘safe account’ to keep it secure. .. THIS IS A VERY COMMON SCAM and real banks would never ask you to do this.

They said they were from 'Saul Energy' and wanted to talk about how to lower my energy bills. Asked for my postcode so they could check what deals I might qualify for in my area. I told them my contract doesn’t end until July 2022 and asked them to take me off their list. They also mentioned the call would be recorded for training. Seriously?! 😳

I've had two calls from this number, but each time my phone was out of reach. It's quite peculiar, as I’ve hardly used this EE phone for much, basically just the NHS app and Wetherspoons app. I don’t typically have conversations or take calls on it at all. So, it caught me off guard to find I’d actually received a call... how strange!

I’ve been receiving calls since March, but only today did I finally pick up. It was a bloke on the other end who seemed to know my name, asking if I was Mr? I simply asked who he was and why he had my number. Turns out he was from EE, and insisted he needed to have a word with Mr? regarding an account. I quickly clarified that I'm not affiliated with EE and that my name is Ian, requesting him not to call me again. He then began to shout something about my account being compromised and urged me to confirm my bank details to prevent further issues. I couldn’t help but chuckle and merely said, “Right then,” before hanging up. For the record, I have no ties with EE and nothing to worry about. I reported the number to 7726 as a scam. If you find yourself in a similar situation, do report it as well. Stay vigilant!

This number rang me twice today, I missed the first call so looked it up here. When I answered the second time, they said they were from EE offering a 20% discount which felt odd since EE normally sends deals by text. They then said they were a firm called "rescue" working for EE, but when I asked about my GDPR rights regarding marketing from third parties, they couldn’t give a clear answer. I also asked for their website and they said they don’t have one. If anyone else gets calls like this, please report them on a site like this and to the ICO if possible. Definitely seems dodgy to me.

Got two missed calls from this number so I rang back. A friendly woman answered, said she was from EE, and was offering a better deal with a discount. It sounded good, so I went along with it. Then she started asking for my full name, date of birth, postcode, address, and how long I'd been living there. I asked why she needed all that, surely they have it on record? Found this page in the middle of the call and got a bit wary, so I ended the call quickly. Now I’ve had a few texts from EE about changes to my plan but it’s all kinda confusing. This bloke rang me, said he was from EE, and started asking about how much I usually put on my phone and what method I use to top up. Then he mentioned some sort of discount deal that sounds too good to be true, saying it’s cheaper for more credit or something. After that, he said he needed some personal info and told me to turn my phone off for 15 minutes, then switch it back on and everything would be sorted. I received a call from an unfamiliar number, and I simply can't be bothered to pick up. Engaging with unknown callers leads to all sorts of unwanted situations, doesn't it? My phone has flagged this one as spam, so I reckon it’s best to leave it unanswered.

Got a missed call from 01915161641 on my landline today at 17:06, no voicemail left. Seems like it was probably one of those dodgy calls.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be from EE. They appeared to know my name and my location, but I refrained from sharing any personal information. When I mentioned that their number had raised some red flags for me, they suggested I visit the official EE website for verification. I did as they said, only to find that the number that had called me wasn’t linked to EE in any shape or form!

I've received a total of seven calls from this number on my mobile phone, and I've chosen not to pick up any of them. It's clearly a scam.

They rang me two times today, but I didn’t know the number so just didn’t pick up.

I haven’t managed to answer their calls. However, they’ve definitely been ringing me numerous times over the last few days. I can only assume it’s some sort of scam.

Got a call on my new EE number from some muppet, I just said hi once and they went totally quiet for over a minute before putting the phone down.

Someone said they were from EE, but it didn’t sound right cos the number wasn’t like their usual one, so I just ended the call. I got tricked once by a fake O2 call before (was really struggling moneywise and the idea of getting a sim with credit without paying upfront made me let my guard down) but I managed to sort it out before anything bad happened. This call felt the same - same kind of questions, same way of talking, all sketchy.

I've chosen not to pick up calls from this number since I have no idea who is on the other end. After finding out it was linked to some dodgy scams, I went ahead and hit the block button, but they’re still managing to ring me. It’s truly infuriating!

I hung up right away when they started talking about me being a "valued EE customer." The truth is, I’ve only been with EE for under a year, so it struck me as highly suspicious. It's clear to me that this is a con; I mean, EE wouldn’t be offering upgrades to someone who hasn’t even crossed the one-year mark with them yet.

Got two calls from this number and picked up the second time. The guy said he was with EE, but I’m not convinced. Sounds like it might be a scam to me. The caller was a man and had a bit of a Geordie accent.

I keep receiving calls on my mobile from this number, but thankfully the signal in my area is dreadful, so they can't get through-which is a blessing in disguise! Honestly, who are these individuals? It's beyond me why they don't just find proper employment instead of trying to swindle hard-working folks out of their cash. Honestly, they deserve all the misfortune that comes their way!

I received seven calls in a single day from what I suspect to be a scam. Just a heads up, EE wouldn’t contact you directly about promotions; you’d typically receive a text from “150” or “-EE-”. Absolutely avoid sharing any personal information with these callers, and it's best not to engage with them at all!
