A bloke called saying he was from Legal and General life insurance offering to reduce my premium. He was really pushy and rude, kept asking me to answer security questions about my age and mortgage term. When I asked if he already had that info, he said yes. I asked him to recite the details he had so I could check, but he got it wrong. I told him I was busy and would ring L&G myself, then he just cut me off. BE WARNED IF THIS NUMBER RINGS YOU!!!

Got another dodgy call today, this time from a woman around 3:50pm. Didn’t know the number so I just ended the call. I usually get these scam calls in waves then nothing for ages. If this number is that well known for scams, why isn’t it taken down by the police? Surely GCHQ can track these down easy enough, just treat it as a suspicious activity and deal with it.

Got a call yesterday but our BT call blocker stopped it since the number's not saved in our contacts. They didn’t bother to tell us who they were, so we couldn’t decide whether to pick up. After reading all the reviews, we’re just gonna block this number now.

Insurance call!!! They claimed they were a government-backed service checking for gaps in our insurance cover. Told the South African guy straight up that they were definitely not an official body. Hung up, then rang back. More rubbish!! I told the woman I spoke with that I’m not sure how they got my details, but since I’m on the TPS (which seems pointless) they shouldn’t be ringing me at all. Feels like harassment to me. Definitely dodgy.

Picked up the phone and there was a long pause before someone finally spoke. Claimed to be from a life insurance firm. I told them straight away I’m all set with mine, but they kept pushing to improve my plans. I stayed courteous, but they wouldn’t accept no, so I ended up ending the call. When I looked back at my call list today, this number was flagged as Possible Scam. It didn’t show that warning when they rang, otherwise I’d have just ignored it.

Got a call from a UK call centre, they wanted to chat about checking my life insurance. I told them I didn't need to renew since it was already sorted, but they kept saying it was just a review. I said I thought reviews only happened at renewal time. After that, they seemed to lose interest. Definitely not Aviva, that's for sure!

The person on the line claimed I’d signed up on some website and wanted me to review my life insurance policy. When I asked which company had given them my details, they couldn’t say - said it was all handled by some automated dialling system. I then asked for their company name, quoting the GDPR Act 2018 about my right to know where they got my info, but she flat out refused to tell me. When I said I’d report the call, she said they’d take me off their list, though warned I might still get other calls from different firms!

I told them if my insurance is due, how come they don’t even know who it's with? I also mentioned I don’t have any life insurance at all, and that their intro about renewals was misleading. The company ought to consider who they’re trying to fool - using tricks to get you to spill info breaches data protection rules. Then she tried pushing other insurance on me.
