07144399561 from St Helens rang me again, it’s not the first time either. As soon as I said hello, I told them the calls were being sent straight to the national fraud line... then they just hung up! Another number I’ve had to block.

Apparently, since my car was part of a no-fault crash a while back (which wasn’t my fault), they say I’m owed £3000 compensation. Before sharing any details, I asked them to send the money to charity and said I didn’t want to be involved. Then I just ended the call. Hopefully they call back. If they do, I’m thinking of giving them fake info - after all, the accident itself seems made up.

Some bloke called from Mojo or summat about car accident insurance, sounded like a scam yeah. He was fairly polite and answered most of what I asked. Said he was ringing from Sheffield, working in a call centre with loads of other people (tier 3 or something). He did admit it was a cold call and had no clue if I’d been in an accident. Asked about how often they actually get info but he dodged the question. Ended with him hanging up politely.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know, but this one popped up and I just picked up out of reflex. Turns out it was those crash scammers again, so I’ve blocked the number now. Honestly, shouldn’t the phone providers take some action already, or the government step in and crack down on these fraudsters?

I got a call from some 'investigators bureau' saying I’d been in a car accident ages ago. She asked which part of the car was damaged, I said the back. Then she wanted the exact date of the accident and I told her, you should have that info already, why ask me? She said they need to double check. She asked me the same thing twice, then suddenly said she’d hang up. I told her straight up she was a scammer.

Got a call on my mobile saying I was involved in an accident with a third party, which I flatly denied. To mess with her a bit, I asked if I was the driver, which I’m not. She said her GP told her to ring because he was worried about me. When I asked for the GP’s name, she said she couldn’t give it out. This number rang me up on my mobile. It was a really polite Asian woman with a nice voice, asking about an accident I supposedly had, saying I'd been "inconvenienced". I told her the last accident I had was in Germany back in the 1960s, when I accidentally crushed a wheelbarrow filled with pumpkins while driving a Conqueror tank after a firing practice. She thought that was funny and hung up. Got three calls from similar numbers today, all about insurance stuff. Seems like some kind of scam going on.

Just got a call from a woman who said her name was Nicola, claiming she was from MIB. She talked about some accident and said I could claim £3000. I didn’t catch everything because I wasn’t recording. When I mentioned “but wouldn’t that be fraud?”, she seemed quite offended (sorry if my words were harsh, not my intention). While still on the call, I quickly looked up the official Motor Insurers’ Bureau website and saw they warn about scams like this. So, I just ended the call.
