Got a call from someone saying they wanted to assist me with a road traffic accident I was apparently involved in, reported by someone else. They kept mentioning GDPR, although 'Natasha' kept calling it GDPI, trying to get me to share personal info to confirm my identity. The whole thing was a confusing ramble about gap insurance, claims for injury, and even death. I told them I was very much alive. I also said their address info for me was wrong, but they just ignored it and pushed on. Definitely a phishing attempt.

The Motor Insurance Bureau has phoned me loads of times over the past year. Each time I ask for specifics about the incident they mention, they just hide behind data protection rules. Then when I request the car’s registration number they say they have, I tell them it’s not my vehicle. They just end the call. Honestly, it’s getting really annoying. They’ve got no shame at all.

A bloke with a strong Indian accent said he was from some motor dept and wanted to talk about a minor accident with my car. What creeped me out was that he actually knew my name. Proper dodgy call. Just got a call from this number 01744 399557‬ saying I was involved in an accident last year and there's third party compensation for me. When I asked for details about the car in question, the caller claimed she didn’t know because she was from some investigation agency, not an insurance company. I then asked when the supposed accident took place, and she responded by saying how would she know since she wasn’t with me at the time. I pointed out her sarcastic tone and told her to stop repeating herself. Then, suddenly, she just ended the call abruptly on me.

Some idiot called me earlier, had an Indian accent. The Motor Insurers Bureau actually warns about scams like that on their site. They don’t contact anyone to chase claims, that’s not what they do. These scammers even claim they have your info from the Motor Insurance Database. I worked in accident claims for a big insurance company for 7 years, so I know this stuff. Just block and report them. I never caught the caller's name or where he was from, but he was quite rude, saying I’d been in an accident. I acted confused and asked which vehicle was involved. He admitted he didn't have the car’s registration details. He claimed the other driver had reported it to their insurer, which is how they got hold of my number. When I kept asking for details, he got annoyed and said I was being "really difficult." I kept on though, and in the end I told him not to ring me again.

Had a call today about some allegedly uninsured damages from a recent little "tap" on my car. They reckoned I’d ticked the accident box on my last insurance update and that they’d reached out to assist. Got proper defensive when I told them 1. Got a missed call and when I called back, the person said I’d just filed a car insurance claim and that because of an accident my fees would go up. I know it’s a scam since I don’t even drive. When i asked why vosa would be dealing with accident claims, he said he was actually working with mip.
