I received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be with the "Motor Assist Group". They went on about a car accident I apparently had last year, which, to be quite honest, is completely fabricated. I've never been in such an incident! Honestly, such ambulance chasers are a right pain... I've gone ahead and blocked their number!

Got a call about a car crash i supposedly was in, but i don’t even drive. When i called them out for being scammers, they got really nasty. I said i’d be reporting them to the cops and they just laughed, told me to f*** off, then ended the call. What a joke!

A polite bloke phoned me up saying the insurance claim I submitted mentioned a small car crash from about a year and a half ago, and they could refund me. I told him I haven’t had any accidents in over a decade and suspected it was a scam. He tried to get my insurance info but when I asked which company he was from, he didn’t reply. I called it out as a scam and he ended the call.

Received a call from someone called Alex Parker, said I was involved in a car bump but wasn’t my fault, and they’ve claimed it on their insurance. My car hasn’t even moved because of COVID, so that sounded fishy. When I asked for my address, they gave one I haven’t lived at for like 20 years. I told them it seemed like a scam and I was going to contact the police, asked for their name, and they hung up straight away. Blocked the number and reported it to the police - probably nothing will come of it, but makes me feel a bit better at least.

Someone called saying it was from motor management about an accident. I told them I never had one and it’s not on my insurance. When I kept saying no, they said maybe it was vandalism. I told them nothing happened. Had to cut the call 'coz it was on my mobile, and they said they'd ring back. I told them not to bother as I wouldn't pick up. Blocked the number now.

They kept asking for someone here but couldn't even say his name properly. When I asked what their call was about, they said it was regarding an accident from 18 months ago. I then asked if they liked their job, and she said she wasn’t allowed to say. So I said, “Do you enjoy ripping people off?” and told her to jog on. Proper cheeky lot! Honestly feel sorry for anyone who falls for these calls thinking they're legit, when really it's all a scam to steal your cash.

That was such a strange call, I normally just ignore unknown numbers but answered this time. Some bloke asked for me by my old name, which was odd. I said it wasn’t me and then he and someone else in the background started chuckling. He tried to say where he was calling from but it wasn’t clear, so I asked again and they just kept laughing before hanging up. Honestly, felt like some kids messing about, proper weird behaviour 🙄

Got a call from this number saying the driver who hit me passed my details to them for compensation. When I asked for the car registration, they said "You should know your own reg." Then I asked about the time and place of the accident, and they just said "You should know." I told her she’s part of a scam and she should find a decent job, she got rude straight away. When I said I was recording and had her number, she laughed and hung up on me.

Some bloke with a kinda Aussie accent called me, saying I was owed £2500 for an accident that wasn’t my fault. I asked when this happened, he said November. I then asked for the car’s registration but he claimed he couldn’t give that info over the phone. I asked him to send it by email instead. He told me someone would ring me back. Well, too bad for him, I’ve just blocked his number.

Total SCAM, they rang me saying they was from the MIB about a crash back in Dec 2019. They wanted my car reg but had no clue what it was. I asked how they got info about the accident or my details and they couldn’t answer. When I said I was with the MIB and asked for a supervisor’s name, they just hung up on me.

We ended up shouting at each other (not exactly top notch customer service, haha) before she abruptly hung up swearing. This bloke (Asian gent) rang me saying I was getting a big payout from an accident settlement. When I asked for info about my insurance provider, he just kept going over the same rehearsed lines. I tried to get details about the accident, but he only repeated himself again. I even asked if they record calls to their clients, and he just stuck to his script. I told him I work for the Motor Insurance Bureau and all calls to me are recorded and reported to the coppers, yet he just kept on with the same spiel. Honestly, this lad wins the prize for being proper clueless.
