Got a call from a woman saying her name was Melanie, claiming I was in some accident I’ve never heard of. I told her straight to take my number off their list and I didn’t hold back on cursing. Then she goes telling me not to be rude, and I just said she should find a new job. Clearly, she was lying about her name and it’s obviously a scam.

Some bloke called saying he was from accident investigation but never gave his name. He claimed I'd been in a crash at some point since I got my car insurance. When I told him that couldn’t be right, he said maybe it happened when I was with someone else - still no chance. I then asked him to tell me my insurance company’s name and he just hung up. My phone keeps logs of called numbers, so that’s how I found out the number was 01744399240.

Got a call from someone about a 'legal claim' for some 'minor injuries' I supposedly made - but I told them I never did. They insisted I picked that option on my recent car insurance renewal. When I asked where they got my number from, they said they receive details from loads of insurance firms and couldn't say exactly where mine came from. They were pretty pushy at first but after a bit they backed off and just told me to get in touch with my insurer to sort it out.

Got a call from someone who was really insistent. I told them I wasn’t interested and said it was a cold call and that I wanted my number taken off their list, but they kept saying they couldn’t do that unless I confirmed the name they were looking for. I held firm and told them I’d be reporting them.

Got a call from a lady who was really polite at first, then she claimed I’d been in a small crash with a careless driver. When I told her that wasn’t the case, she asked if I’d lied on some forms. I told her I hadn’t done any paperwork at all, and suddenly she sounded different, said she’d have to take it further, and just cut me off :(

Got a call from a lady claiming I was in a small accident. I told her I don’t drive. Then she switched to saying I’d had a crash on the bus, but I said I never use buses. She got really rude after that and said she wouldn’t accept my refusal. I just ended the call and blocked the number.

Just got a call from this pushy bloke saying he was from a firm called Legal Assist, going on about me ticking some box on my insurance renewal about having an accident or a chip in the windscreen or a stolen car - not really clear what he was on about. He got really rude, telling me to shut up and listen. Proper unpleasant guy, looked like a total scam. I ended up hanging up and blocking the number. Be careful, folks, with everything going on we don’t need dodgy scammers trying to take advantage of us.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Legal Advice, said his name was Craig. He knew my first name and even what my old address was. When I asked him about my car registration, he said he hadn’t got that info and told me to just listen and not cut him off. I told him he had no right to speak to me like that and then he just hung up. The call was about some kind of incident, apparently.
