I’ve got this number barred on my BT Call Blocker phone. Received half a dozen calls from them just this week, particularly on Tuesday - all of which are obviously prevented from getting through. Seems like it’s probably one of those auto-dialler numbers. I’ll keep on clearing the blocked calls without a second thought!

I've received a barrage of calls-seven on Tuesday alone and now it's been between three to five each day since. I picked up once, and there was this chappy on the line with an Asian accent claiming to be from some phone protection service. I told him quite firmly that I'm not interested and that it was clear he wouldn't take the hint. Unbelievably, they’ve already tried ringing me twice before 10:15 this morning! It feels like déjà vu; I had to deal with a similar nuisance not long ago. Such a bother!

Got a call the last two days from someone saying they were Microsoft. They claimed my computer had some risky issues that could damage it. They wanted me to switch on my computer, but I didn’t feel comfortable so said no. When I asked why I should trust them, they said I was already paying for a service. I then asked for my name as proof they were speaking to the right person, but they had it completely wrong. I ended the call and they kept ringing back about four more times.

I’m receiving calls from this number three times a day, and even though I've blocked them, the nonsense doesn’t stop. It’s rather frustrating; the phone rings just once before going silent. My device comes from Argos and, while it is equipped with a blocking feature, it hardly seems to deter these annoying calls. I received a call from this lot just after half past six this evening. It’s worth noting that I had an earlier suspicious encounter with a similar 0161 number last year, which has left me feeling quite cautious. I’ve escalated the matter to the Action Fraud team and also notified the TPS. They’re asserting they represent the TPS, which strikes me as rather odd, especially since the caller had an Asian accent. I mentioned I’d ring them back, but I’m now wondering how I can use my IDect phone to prevent them from getting through again. Any advice on blocking these nuisance calls would be appreciated!

I received a call from someone claiming to be associated with "Telephone Preference Management" (just to clarify, not TPS). Their communication skills were rather lacking, and they struggled to clarify the purpose of their call. I've since added their number to my blocked list!

After confirming that my number is legitimate, I suspect the next move will be for these folks to masquerade as the TPS, BT, or some other outfit in a bid to dupe me. This number keeps pestering us with calls every single day. Today, I finally picked up the phone, and the person on the other end said he represented a service that blocks nuisance calls. He insisted on verifying my address and the expiry date of my bank card. We went back and forth for quite some time, as I steadfastly declined to share any of my personal details. The chap had an Indian accent and sounded like he was sitting in a call centre, really trying to sell me on this. I eventually decided enough was enough and ended the call.

Had another ring today but the number showed ending in 170, the last one was 1721. Same deal, Indian caller claiming to be from TPS (pure nonsense). The first time, I blew a whistle to get rid of them. This time, just told them to piss off since they don’t seem to care about anything else. If they keep pestering, the football whistle’s coming out again. Why doesn’t Ofcom do what they’re supposed to and cut off these fraudsters?

I got a call saying my TPS was expiring on 01/03/2018 and that I needed to renew my contract, then someone would get in touch to sort it out. When I asked who would cover the costs, the call ended straight away. Seems like they reckon everyone’s daft, just like the folks behind these scams. Honestly, this is all on the government - they could easily put a stop to it if they actually cared.

I just received a call from this number. The chap on the line claimed he was checking if I had registered for a cold calling block. He had a foreign accent and was aware of my name and address. He then tried to coax me into confirming the expiry date on one of my cards. After I firmly declined several times, he actually told me to f*** off. Quite concerning, honestly. Received a call at precisely 11:55 this morning (2nd January 2018) - there was quite a lengthy silence before an Asian gentleman inquired if I was *******. I kindly informed him that he appeared to have misdialled and promptly ended the call. It was from a number in Manchester, so I’ve now added it to my blocked list.

I've been getting persistent calls, and there's this noticeable lag in the voice when you answer, which leads me to believe they're employing some sort of automated calling system for mass outreach. The caller invariably requests for a Mrs. Harley, yet they continue to chatter away even after it's made clear that no one by that name resides here. The voices I've encountered seem to be from individuals of Asian descent, both male and female. Quite an odd experience, really!
