I've received numerous calls, perhaps five or six, from someone purporting to be with the TPS. The chap on the other end had a quite thick accent and, rather unsettlingly, was aware of my address. I had a rather infuriating experience with a caller who sounded like they were halfway across the globe, possibly in the Pacific by the sound of it! They said they were representing TPS and offered up some vague reassurances about the benefits of their service. Then, to my surprise, they started prying into the details of my direct debit payments for my phone bill. Before I knew it, we were segued into a discussion about the “expiry date” of my bank card from 2018. At that point, I simply had to hang up, seething with frustration.

I received a call from a woman with an Asian accent, who purported to be from BT regarding nuisance calls. As it turned out, she was just pestering me, asking if I was the one responsible for the bill and whether I made payments via direct debit. I firmly informed her that such personal details were none of her concern and questioned how it related to nuisance calls. At that point, she abruptly ended the call.
