Lately, my folks have been getting some dodgy calls from this number over the last few weeks. Every time Mum or Dad pick up, there’s silence on the other end, which is quite unnerving for them. Given that they are both getting on in years, they’ve become quite apprehensive and now avoid answering the phone altogether. It's frustrating, because no one bothers to leave a voicemail either. Ring our home phone about 7.30am this 29.12.17 morning. Honestly, it's such a pain - we were dead asleep, especially after being out late helping the mother-in-law who took a tumble in her bathroom. Proper irritating!

Had yet another ring from 01623270178 today, some bloke called John (bet that’s fake) saying he was from Telephone Preference Management, not TPS apparently. He kept pushing me to give out loads of info like my direct debit and card expiry. When I asked what he was really after, he turned rude and just hung up on me. We get about 6 to 10 calls daily from numbers like this one. It’s obvious a scam and downright irritating. Listen up, John (fake name I’m sure) - I’m onto you!

I keep getting calls from different numbers where they say they're from the TPS and ask for my card info. I've told them to quit calling and to remove my details, but they just get nasty, shouting and using bad language. It's absolutely a terrible scam, don’t fall for it.

Got a call from this number today, they said they were from the TPS. They asked for the expiry date on my debit card to verify my identity. I was like, how on earth does my card expiry help prove who I am? They went on to say it was to check the details of my direct debit payment for my phone bill. I told them straight up that a card's expiry date has nothing to do with confirming a direct debit. After a good 10-minute back and forth of me questioning them, they just hung up on me. Total scam, definitely dodgy behaviour.

Someone phoned me saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service and spoke as if they worked for every phone company in the UK. I told them calling me was pointless and accused them of being scammers, asking them not to ring again. They ignored me and rang back from another number. This time, it was a woman who said she was a supervisor; I told her the same thing - that I knew it was a scam and I didn’t want any more calls. She then started getting rude, so I just ended the call. Now they’re ringing up to six times daily, and I just let it go to answerphone.

Loads of calls keep coming from this number and others beginning with 0161. The phone actually rings though, which is annoying. Thankfully, they get saved in my call list. I picked up a Premium Nuisance Call Blocker, mine’s a BT 4600 model, and it’s brilliant! Since using it, those calls have stopped completely. Honestly, I think everyone should get one - it’s made a massive difference for me.

This number called me four times already today. Each time, they said they were from the TPS service. I told them to take me off their list, but on the first three calls, either I ended the call or they did. On the fourth call, I let them talk longer and the person got quite pushy, demanding the expiry date of a debit card linked to my phone bill’s direct debit. I refused to give it, since I had a similar sketchy experience a few months back, and then hung up. Such a pain!

Looks like yet another one to add to the ever growing list of nuisance calls: 1061 345 0623 and 1061 354 0624, plus all their slight variations. Seriously, why do these calls just keep coming? There’s no way to block em all, is there? So frustrating!
