Pretty much like the other calls mentioned here. The person claimed they were updating the TPS list and needed to check my info. They asked me to confirm my name and address, and then suddenly brought up expired credit card details. When I pointed out that had nothing to do with TPS registration, they insisted it was part of verifying who I was. I wasn’t convinced at all, so I just ended the call.

Absolutely, we're in the same boat. These calls keep coming in, usually around three or four times each day, despite our repeated refusals. It's rather tiresome, to put it mildly! We've resorted to ignoring the phone altogether now! What a nuisance!

I've received a number of calls from this particular number, and I usually let them ring out. However, today I decided to pick up. An individual with an Indian accent introduced himself as being from the telephone preference service. He insisted I provide my debit card details in order to keep using their service. I reminded him that it’s supposed to be a free service and there’s no need for such information. To that, he abruptly responded with, “Alright, I’m removing you from the service” and hung up on me. Clearly, this is a scam!

It's been really frustrating, they keep ringing me up about four times daily for some days. We let the voicemail pick up most calls and only bother answering if it seems important. As soon as these callers hear that, they just hang up straight away.

I received a call from a woman who was rather insistent on obtaining my banking information related to how I handle my phone bill payments, such as whether I use direct debit or whatnot. When I explained that this personal information was none of her business, she abruptly ended the call.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be Mike from the TPS. Once I realised who it was, I just ended the call. Lately, I’ve been getting a few calls daily, but most times when I answer, there’s nothing on the other end except for today’s call which actually had someone there.

I’ve had this number ring me about 10 times in just a single day. Looks like it’s some kind of offshoot from another number that’s also been bugging me quite a bit. Had to switch on my Do Not Disturb so only my mates and family can actually get through now.

If u get calls from this number, dont pick up it’s definitely a scam. Mine rings like 4 or 5 times daily, even tho I’ve used call blocking and guardian services. The phone still manages to ring a couple of times before it blocks the caller. Proper annoying tosser buzzing at all weird times.

I asked for a contact number so I could ring back, but he insisted he’d stay on the line while I checked. I explained I preferred to verify first and would call them back. He said I wouldn’t reach him directly, only a help desk. I said that was alright. The guy with an Indian accent just ended the call.

Like some folks said here, when I questioned him about confirming the expiry on my card, he quickly tried to calm me down. I hung up sharpish. He's called me back a couple times since. Stay clear of this dodgy number, best not to pick up.

I got a call from a bloke claiming he was with some TPS company. He asked if I paid my phone bill by direct debit and said I could keep using their TPS service. Then he went on about my card expiring soon and wanted to check my home address, name, and expiry date on the card. Something felt off straightaway, so I didn’t give him any info and just ended the call. After that, I rang up my bank to let them know, and they confirmed it was a scam. I got a call from some Indian guy, like the others, so I just messsed about with him for a bit before asking to speak to his manager. When I said I only deal with directors, he passed me onto one - proper laugh that was! Watch out for these lot, they’re really pushy and don’t stop even if you’re blunt with them. If you like having a bit of fun, go for it, but never give them any info. They’re definitely not TPS, which is free and only connects to numbers listed in the directory, nothing more!

they said they were from "telephone preference management", which i've heard is a scam trick to make you pay for signing up to a free do not call list. they rang me three times all in one day; first time no message was left, second time they just cut off without saying a word, and the third time they said the company name before awkwardly stating "I'm calling you today." after a weird silence i said "yes?" thinking it would continue, but then they went quiet again and just hung up.

Got a call from some bloke named Henry Williams, claimed he grew up in India. He was pretty pushy trying to get me to verify my card's expiry date. I wasn’t having any of it and called him out. When I asked for the website link, he just wouldn’t give it to me. Honestly, he was quite rude throughout the whole thing.

Got a call the other day from a woman speaking with an Asian accent, and I could hear a busy call centre in the background. She claimed I needed to renew my TPS registration, then she started telling me my address and phone number. When she asked me to confirm the spelling of my surname, it was clear she didn’t actually have my details. Definitely a scam! They’ve called me four times in just two days now.

i’ve had a bunch of calls from these lot today - three times already, and no one answers, it’s just so frustrating. if you use BT’s personal blacklist, you can block them easily. yesterday i got about five calls from 01623 270173 and blocked it, but now they’re ringing again using a number that’s almost the same. really annoying!

Got a call from someone saying they were from the telephone preference service, working with BT, Virgin, TalkTalk and all that. They said they needed to verify my debit card info to keep the service going. Thing is, I have TalkTalk free with no charges, so why would they want my bank stuff? I told them to stop ringing me, and then the bloke on the other end got rude and started swearing. Don't trust these lot or hand over any details!

got a call from a guy with an indian accent who said he was from the tps, not the usual telephone preference service mind you. he started listing all my personal info, name, address, everything like he had my file open or something. i just stayed quiet and let him talk. then he asked for my bank card info, which is when i told him to get lost. sounds like the same scammers who normally use the number 01623 270173. watch out for these dodgy calls.
