They said they were from British Telecom, which sounded pretty convincing at first, even tho I know from years working at BT they usually don’t call it that themselves. The first person on the line handed me over to their manager, who spoke much clearer English. When I asked which part of BT they were from, the reply was “The Broadband Department.”
