I got a call about my life insurance, but I was tied up so I said I couldn't chat right now. Then the bloke got all shouty because I couldn’t give him a time to call back!

Got a call from 0019095689 originally but once I blocked it, the number showed up again two times as 0161 818 6932. Not sure how they're managing to switch numbers like that. They said they were from VISA - total scam artists, absolute scumbags!

Luckily they didn’t leave a message this time, which was a relief given the other reviews I’ve read aren’t very promising.

Since the end of April, I’ve gotten six calls from this number. It kicked off on the 29th April, then I had four more within five days. Each time, no message was left - often they hung up before my answerphone even kicked in. Just to be clear, if I get a proper message with full caller info and a clear reason for calling, I do call back. But if they forget even one detail, I ignore it completely. Bottom line: I don’t entertain SCAMMERS or FRAUDSTERS.

I almost got scammed out of £1000 by some Asian guy called David Matthews who said he was from Virgin. He was really good at talking me into it, even though I kept pushing back. Luckily, Santander stopped the payment just in time.

I get calls nearly every day, sometimes up to four times, from what’s clearly an internet scam. It’s mad that the phone companies just let this kind of pestering go on without doing anything about it.

This same number keeps calling me and just hangs up without saying a word. The last two calls were on the 10th of May, after they had already tried twice the day before. Honestly, it’s getting pretty tedious now. I never bother calling back when someone just stays silent, so I don’t see why they keep pestering me. They must be losing money given the phone bills and paying whoever’s behind it. No doubt about it, they’re all just scammers.

This number has rung me up three times over the past couple of days - once just yesterday and then again about an hour ago today. I honestly don’t get why they keep at it when it’s clear I’m not interested. Honestly, I reckon whoever’s making these calls are proper scammers and deserve a serious comeuppance. Maybe they should be dealt with using something like concrete boots and sent off on a one-way voyage aboard the Flying Dutchman.

Got two calls from this number today, but we usually have our mates and family’s numbers saved and they have ours too, so if some random number like this pops up, I just reckon it’s either some dodgy scam or a telemarketer. I don’t pick up, but it’s super annoying that they keep ringing when nobody asked for it.

Got another one of those silent calls again, probably just to wind people up and trick them into calling back. When you do, they redirect you to a costly premium line and rake in the cash. Absolute SCAMMERS, and I’m not falling for it or returning their calls. This same number bugged me before on 29/04 as well.

I just got a call from someone saying they were from Virgin Media. They defo sounded like they knew what they were on about and tried to convince me there was an issue with my router that was putting my security at risk. I reckon this could easily trick anyone who doesn’t know the risks. Looks like these call centres just keep ringing you up, pretending to be loads of different internet companies until they find out who you actually use. Proper sneaky trick.

Looking through the reviews here, it’s obvious a lot of callers say they’re from various tech support teams for different phone providers, yet they all ring from the same number. If these were genuine companies, surely they’d have a dedicated number for the whole company or an individual line for each rep. It’s pretty clear this number is shared among multiple people, which is typical for call centres but also a common trick used by scammers.

I got a call on my mobile from a guy who sounded Asian and spoke very broken English, saying he was from BT about my broadband. He kept going on, but I had to explain loads of times that this isn’t even a BT line. Eventually, he got really annoyed, started swearing, and just hung up on me.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying my internet was hacked or some nonsense. I told him I’ve got a unique set of skills, honed over years of dealing with dodgy stuff, skills that make guys like him wish they never called. Just like Terry, I received a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. He told me that there was a security breach with my router and IP address, and he wanted me to type CMD in the search bar on my laptop so he could "help" me sort it out. Received a call from 01618186932 today. The chap on the other end claimed he was affiliated with Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my IP address and router. He even provided me with an extension number for a seemingly credible company named Vmits. However, given that I had only just had my router fitted, I thought it best to verify this with Virgin Media directly. They promptly informed me that it was indeed a scam and advised me to report the incident to the Telephone Preference Service, as it appears these scammers are obtaining personal details from somewhere, likely through lifestyle surveys or similar means. Thankfully, he hasn't called me back since then.
